Lumatek Ballast Question

So this guy gave me an extra Lumatek Electronic Ballast; 400w/120v.

Its been sitting in my closet for a while not being used. Im gonna move soon and will have to fix a closet grow up until i find the perfect home, so I thought i would check this out.

First, I thought I read somewhere people having problems with this ballast? Or it gave off a frequency that caused the police to come around?

Second, correct me if I'm wrong, but in order to connect this ballast to my Sun System hood(currently 1000w SS ballast) all I need is ... this lamp cord adaptor? And a bulb of course.

thats the correct adapter you need.
the BS on here about cops coming around because of RF interference is pretty much crap.
I have four 400w lumateks all the old style with out dimmer. the oldest is almost 4 years old the other three are just over 3 years old. no issues.

Half the reef aquarium owners would be be getting their doors kicked in if they alerted the cops. lumateks are popular in more than the weed hobby.
I have 3 older 250w's and no one has even knocked.
