looking for a Y damper, scrubber to vent only when temps are up

To keep it short, I have a 10" fan on a scrubber that is scrubbing the room. I now want to set it up so when the room hits a certain temp, it vents the scrubbed air out to the house. when the room is not being vented, I want it to recirculate the room.

If a put a Y in it and put a damper on the vent to the house, it wont vent all the air, it will split through the Y.

I am trying to heat the house with grow room air, but scrub the room when the room is not warm enough.

I was wondering if there was a motorized Y damper that will direct air from one side to the other side. The other option is a damper on each side, one closing while the other opens but that is a pricey move

I'm not an HVAC guy but . . . even if you were able to find a power Y damper I'm guessing it will be more expensive than a pair of Suncourts.

i did some more googling and found some for $64 each which includes the 24v transformer. Guess I need one NC and one NO. Guess that's my only option

One thing to note is that even the "100% restrictive" (or whatever term they use) isn't really 100% in sealed growroom terms, particularly if the NO path has a little bit of resistance. IOW you may be seeing a faster-than-usual decline in your CO2 levels even when it's not venting out.

Not sure of the official names off the top but I think you might be better off using a "Wye" (?; straight pipe with 45deg outlet) rather than a symmetrical "Y" (double 45deg). DUCY?

ill be using CHHC-1.

My electric bill is at its max, and the house is 40 degrees inside, Electric heat. so i need to use growroom heat to help heat the house, 4kw flower room. Co2 burner, not concerned if I go through tanks faster

A small amount of leakage wont be a big deal, back to the growroom or house, it will all be filtered.

good idea on the Y

The damper has a regular plug?
It will go in the heater outlet of the sentinel set to turn "off" (open to house) at certain temp and "on" (open to grow) below it?
What would your switch over (max grow) temp be?
How hot does your room get?

I like ur idea, that's why I ask so many questions...
If u have a gas stove, it's the ghetto cheap way to add heat and co2 till ur part arrives...

No it doesn't have a "regular plug", that's what the 24VAC transformer is for.

the dampers have 24V motors so you need a transformer to run them. They are very small loads, like 7 watts, so the amperage would be minimal on the chhc-1. Plug both motors to the cool side of the controller. A little custom wiring is in order but very very simple. when the room gets 85, the damper to the room would close, and the damper to the house would open. Once the room gets below 85, they would reverse, and the scrubber would continue to scrub the room.

when the dampers have no power, they are rated as normally open or normally closed. so you have to get one of each. You wire to the cool side so the dampers have power when the room needs to be vented.

The CHHC-1 is very good at this as it will shut off co2 when venting and you can set deadbands

right now i have 2k running and the room is at 73.

To make this work I may have to forget co2 and run the room at 75 . when i turn the other 2k on, then i may get enough heat to exhaust.

House has no gas, all electric... :(

I was thinking of getting those propane heaters for construction sites. We use them at the ballpark as well. But I figured that wasnt a good idea to run a propane heater in the house

There are 'normally closed' NC 8" or 6" duct dampers that open when power is applied. In our case you could use a thermostat to open and vent when temps rise over certain temp.

Sorry already stated above
