Week 6 into Flower Mite Infestation Only Getting Worse

Got some plants 5-6 weeks into flower and I've been trying to fight a mite infestation that only seems to be getting worse. I've bombed the room with Doktor Doom foggers 3 days apart 3 times now. I also did a light spray on the plants, but 5 weeks in seems a little to far to be spraying anything...Or is it? I know Azatrol is safe up to the a few days before harvest, but is it going to damage the buds this late in? Thanks ic!

Dude, feel your pain totally. Dr Doom was the only thing that killed them for me. It's not clear from what you wrote, are your girls in an open room? Or in a cabinet in a room? One fogger in a large room isn't apt to do much. Turn off all ventilation for awhile when you use it. If they're in a cabinet do the same but one fogger in a cabinet would be too much, set it off close to but not inside.

I got a package deal awhile back that was one big regular type spray can and one fogger. I never used the fogger but sprayed the inside of the cabinet with the air off for an hour or so. It took a few applications but I eventually won.

It 'shouldn't' damage the buds this late in especially if you dont let it spray directly on them, but it is getting late in flower and I wouldn't trust it on something smokeable any closer than 3 or 4 weeks out.

Maybe you can help salvage the crop by letting them go longer in flowering. Good luck

late flower i would blast them with plain water...take them to the sink or tub and spray them hard !!

the plants are in a 3x6 tray in a big room with other trays...they are trellised as well...cold water spray seems to be the next option...

You can spot spray the worst areas with Neem Oil and you can use a vacuum to suck up any webbing or groups of mites. I got sick of dealing with mites so now I use Florimite but you're too far into flowering to use that. When my cuts root, I dip them in Floramite and then when they get into flowering in day 1, I spray them again just in case and that is the end of them. The Dr. Doom doesn't kill the eggs so they keep on hatching. 1 Spider mite can turn into over 1 million in 30 days at 80 degrees F. When you harvest your plants, you'll notice that the mites will come up to the top of the stems as they are hanging and you can burn them with a lighter when they hang. Spider mites taste like shit.

i killed em with co2.. if ya have it raise ur ppms to 4500-5000 and get the fuck out of there for 1 hour everything will be dead but ur plants. then spray for eggs with neem or whatever u use. bugz will be dead. but said above get some floramite and hit evereyting up in veg befoer u flip. and mites wont be an issue nemore. if u have other plants there they are infected to even if ya dont see them. treat everyting u got as if it got them if they in the same room and they stick to ur close to to keep that in mind them some tough fucks but will be killed.best of luck bro its a neverending war between us and the borg good luck in ur battle.

did the high humidity trick last night...have had RH over 90% for the lights off period...figure i should probably have my fans running during the lights on cycles....maybe do this RH trick for the next few nights?

90% humidity in week 6 of flower is a recipe for mold and disaster. Mites decrease your yield, mold can cost you everything.

If they're so bad that they're webbing up, just bite the bullet and spray them with azatrol (preferably 2 hours before lights on). Make certain that the humidity is low, so that the buds don't stay wet for long.

I wouldn't recommend any type of foliar application this late, regardless of what the manufacturer says is safe. Many of those recommendations are generally for vegetable/fruit crops with skins that can be (and typically are) washed thoroughly prior to consumption, not herbs that will be combusted as-is once dry.
