Question about Leaves

So i have switched to organic soil recently, and with the help of some of the post here i have been doing quit well, surpassed my expectations actually. Doing about 90 of what i would using the full AN lineup, and it is WAY easier. I think with more experience i can hit the same finished weight. My question is though, when i veg, i have some strains, Trainwrek and C99, that only produce 3 leaflets instead of the 5 or 7 i would expect. They seem to grow and produce well enough, but it leads me to believe something is not 100 % Has anyone had experience with this? Have suggestions? I uses moonshine mix for soil + blood meal, bone meal, kelp meal, Jersey green sand and Earth worm castings. Thanks,
Sidd

Strange, I guess I have a few questions. First we need to know where you are. Maybe post some pics, but if your not able to at least try to answer the questions.

1. Have you ever pH tested your soil, if not buy a pH meter and do it immediately.
2. Do you pH your water / nutrient solutions? You should know the initial pH of them at the very least.
3. What is your feeding / watering regimen?
4. Are you using the same mother plant to propagate your clones?

I've seen this before with plants, it usually is the result of multiple factors...that should get us started.

I have had a few strains that only did 3. Purple Qurkel and Jack Herer did that.

Here is Purplr Qurkel

Three finger leaves and single bladed leaves are from stress. PH stress, PPM stress, STRESS... Solve the stress and she'll veg five finger leaves too

Yeah, yours is in flower though thats is kinda normal, especially on clones, and near the end. Ive noticed that happens when the temps get to high as well. Not always the case though.

I don't know but would guess strain genetics determine, 3, 5, 7 blades
as genetics determine colour and length...

whatever that's worth.
time for research...

Agreed, Time For Research. One thing I distinctly remember is that all the three leaf plants I ever harvested had a significantly weaker root ball. Coincidence, maybe, but maybe not...... I have also had plants of the same variety exhibit this type of growth pattern and others not.

BUT, I don't have this problem anymore cause I started making my own soil mix and started pH testing the soil, water and fertilizers. So, connection... maybe so. Anyone else?

I did not see any abnormalities while she was growing. Very potent low yielding fire bud :) that what I like. If the yield was better that would have been even better.

genetics can play into this. certain clones will never produce many bladed leaves (such as UK cheese which never has more than 5 blades on the legit clone)

also age, from seed and clone too in many cases the first leaves have one blade, the second 3, the next 5 etc etc.

if you are running strains that previously had more blades but now have less then perhaps something is wrong, but if not then it may be genetics.
