I'm just throwing this out there. But Rick your right on the money, There's a Medical Marijuana Dispensary commercial on in SO Cal on local access TV that shows a 18 yr old kid bee-bopping out of there with his little bag of "Medicine". Not a very good example of what or how I think a dispensary should be advertising

Cali owes the taxpayers(across the country)untold billions, state of emergency, unemployment, statewide entitlements for illegals.

You better get your collective shit together and find a way to tax weed.

Seems the only hope for making that state solvent again

im still amazed that in this day and age people can be more scared of a substance like marijuana which has never caused a single death from its use rather then substances like alcohol and tobacco which continue to claim hundreds of thousands of deaths every year. when will people wake up?

Nothing sickens me more than people who are ignorant especially about Cannabis. Yes the legalization movement has been flying forward since the Internet came about, but it's 2010 and Cannabis is still illegal.

I don't care if Cannabis is natural or doesn't cause harm. The government can't tell you what you can or cannot ingest. That's the main issue here. Yes cigarettes kill but if I feel like smoking I should be able to smoke. Same with the other very dangerous substance that teens get shit faced on every weekend. My friends landed in the hospital last week due to alcohol poisoning. One of these guys is strictly anti-pot....

I wonder what a world would be like, where all drugs are legal or decriminalized (it'll happen) and all these government agencies begin to focus on fighting real crime. Maybe the DEA will begin taking a shit on the FDA and pharmaceutical company, and the police will begin going after real criminals who commit crimes that actually involve a victim that's not the perpetrator himself (how ridiculous.)

And what would gangs and criminals profit off of? It has been so long I don't know what they profited on before drugs. Extortion? Mandatory Mafia protection tax from the local mom and pop shops?

Probably an increase in electronic/check/CC fraud. Hell, maybe they'll smoke weed and come up with some creative schemes.

Too bad Cali couldn't get it's collective shit together for Prop 19, now its time for the feds to quell a Cali revolution....

It would be hypocritical ,, and twisted,, if the US government makes and supports tax $$$ on marijuana sales in Oakland (or anywhere else), while at the same time it spends tax $$$ on eradicating cannabis crops all over the globe. Actually it will take the piss out of us all !!

My 18 y/o nephew is serving in Afghanistan. When he returns he should be able to get his medicine if he needs it. Possibly make advertising unacceptable?

I don't think he was saying it's wrong to advertise OR that 18 y/o shouldn't have access, but rather what message you are sending. MMJ is already scrutinized enough by the anti-crowd as to medical marijuana being "medical excuse marijuana". When people hear mmj, they expect little old women using a cane or some frail person in a wheelchair, not some healthy looking kid techno dancing out the door because he just legally scored a bag of weed.

It isn't the marijuana per se. It's the hippies, pot docs, clubs that sprout overnight with twenty one year olds double parked outside, etc. I can not honestly say I'm proud of the current situation in California. Yes alcohol is more dangerous, but it is regulated, therefore accepted. Hey, may be we should have legalized and regulated marijuana.

I am not some 21 year old myself but personally whether you are younger or older, if your doc says you need it then it really doesn't matter what you "look" like.

Does it need to be only terminally ill crippled people allowed to go in for meds or if anything we can have them there so it "looks" more medical and not just a place to buy weed?

What purpose would regulating a plant that has never killed anyone actually accomplish? We need to regulate it because it "doesn't kill or cause harm to people"? Or is it simply because people look at the clubs and the young kids who volunteer there as well as the younger crowd going in for meds walking, skipping and jumpin instead of using walkers or being "older".

I don't think anyone should have to prove anything to anyone else except their doctor and outside that is no ones damn business.

As far as huge pot farms in L.A., I could care less either way because I don't see those few they allow being any regular med grower in the first place and simple big ass corp take over bullshit.

I like my prop 215, 19 I could take or leave BUT as far as regulation in general, keep em the fuck out. Anything our government has regulated ended up costing far more than it is worth which inturn leads to full government control and then they run yet another industry into the ground.

Just because people have an issue with judging a book by its cover doesn't mean you have to live your life based on what other fucks think.

Who fuckin cares what some old ass voters think, they won't ever vote yes on pot UNLESS they themselves used it and realized they were fed bullshit for 50+ years.

Pretty soon the younger voters will end up as the seniors and I believe many including those young techno ravin whatever the fucks they are WILL be helping us in the future results.

I would rather have 10 active hyper 21 year olds running around getting votes then securing 10 old person votes any day lol. The young will be here long after those old confused people leave the earth.

The funny thing is, the best people to smoke with are the seniors. So many stories PLUS you usually end up smoking out of a pipe that is older than you LOL.

I don't care about what people assume of anyone else and if that is what their vote is based on, you can't change their mind anyways so move onto someone more open minded.

If a person can't realize that pot doesn't kill a damn thing then that is on them and by all means they can look down on me all they want and live the rest of their pitiful life worrying how others might look at them IF they were FOR MARIJUANA da! da! daAAAAAA!!!!!

hahaha government is so fucking stupid...prices in cali have crashed and this might be the one thing keeping it stable. thank god there are no huge warehouses and no WeGrow...i highly doubt they are gonna harass regular old joe running a few lights in his bedroom. hopefully they take out a few big cartel or viet gang grows wouldnt mind seeing crappy cheap beasters pulled off the street.....

seriously..no sympathy for WeGrow...dudes a rich silver spoon daddys little boy, trying to capitlize off marijuana just because of dollar signs not because he wants to grow good pot or help people. corporations like this that simply look at weed as a $$$$ need to go fuck themselves.

im the kind of grower where if my crop comes out subpar...it gets turned to hash, edibles, or sold at rock bottom bargain prices 50 an OZ lol. so before you legal eagles start saying im a profiteer better change your tune.,..

I'm tired of hearing this govt. contolled bullshit. So your telling me you'd rather risk prison time and huge court and lawyer fees rather then health and safety regulations? Are you fucking serious? Please explain to me how an industry like mj can/should be excused from the same regulatory and taxable framework as every other industry is accustomed to....

Would you want farmers not being regulated causing you to eat diseased vegetables or tainted meat? Would you want your water source unregulated so you drink contaminated water? Would you want airlines unregulated so mechanical airplane inspections aren't mandatory?

Regulations are a good thing. Taxes are a good thing. Legitimacy is what this industry needs. Just because some of us don't sell tainted medicine doesn't mean that most wouldn't. Prior to dispensaries people bought and smoked whatever they could get, rather it had PM or mites or mold or whatever. Now most dispensaries are exposed to so many sources that they can dismiss tainted medicine and only carry clean meds. It's 2010. Should medical marijuana still be cultivated by anyone with an extra room in their house and a want for money?

Fucking legalize it. You don't want young people judged because they are more than likely abusing the intent of 215. Then make it legal. Why should ANYONE need to justify their use of mj rather it recreational, medical or spiritual through medical neccessity? MJ is safer then alcohol, tobacco, even asprin! Make it fucking legal so nobody ever needs to face a single minute incarcerated for mj rather your producing, selling, consuming, processing, transporting or manufacturing.

BHT i want all those things to happen but not at the sacrifice of an entire economy. if there was some way to garuntee that mega warehouses wont be pumping out 60lbs a day at 500 a lb for indoors that would destroy the local growers than i would root for it. then the remaining momnpops would have to compete and shitty commercial growers would probably be forced to sell out of state instead of locally...which is kind of already what happens.

props to Obama for being a shiesty two faced lying fuckhead!!!!

At least Kamala Harris is our DA....she might have let my friends killer go free, but she will be lax on marijuana enforcement and redeem herself.

19 has nothing to do with what the feds will do period. They don't care about state laws where they aren't forced to.

Yeah they may put out 60 lbs but 60 lbs of what? Those people want to produce as much ad they can from as litlle as they can. It's all about profit margins. You think someone who is concerned more with return then quality will produce better product than those who strive to produce only the best? Yea budweiser and Coors and miller sell the most amount of beer. But it's shit beer. Does that mean because they can produce so much there is no room for anyone else in the brew game? Be real... Mom & pop growers who put the time and love in can open their own shop, produce all their own product, sell it all at retail and corner the high end niche market in their area... Think about it. Not to mention there will be sooo much to legalization beyond just growing and selling. This is a huge market. Time for people to start thinking outside of the box and going into business fir themselfs.
