How to Cure if im leaving for vacation the day after I harvest

The title says it all. Im chopping my la blanca autoflower on December 24th, the day before I leave for vacation on the 25th. I don't come back until January 14th. Is there some way that I can dry the bitch without doing it to fast or too slow, and without me being there for 3 weeks??

damn that is a long time. Not much you can do except hang it up somewhee acceptable. No automated system that will check the stems and place in bags/jars to begin the burp. Grats on your harvest, but here is your first lesson in planning your grows around big events. I actually do the opposite, plan my life aorund my plants :)

Maybe someone will chime in with some good advice on slowing it down. One thing is for sure, it will be ready to smoke when you get back! Good luck

should i just hang them upside down in brown boxes? Its stealthy that way too... And I also don't have much of a choice. Im a college student so my vacations are set in stone.

3 weeks is a long time to have them hanging.. especially if the humidity is low. They're gonna be super crispy when you get back..

almost worth harvesting a week early maybe? How far along are they? How big/dense are the buds?

Well man, drying and curing call for somewhat different conditions.

I think you should just aim for a slow dry and worry about curing when you get home. Not sure how best to accomplish this tho, and think the answer may depend on the conditions at your place.

What's the humidity & temperature going to be?

I like to do a paper grocery bag cure when I have to leave town, but I do this with dry or nearly-dry weed. I poke holes in the sides of the bag, put buds into the bags in a single layer, staple the top, and put them in a room with some air circulation. The paper bags allow moisture to leave, but slow it down nicely.

pure-ur not the inly one who schedules there life around there grows.

smoka- if i were u id chop the plant and hangem whole in a cooler area like 55-60 it may delay dryin time. make sure its completely dark. some pple dry for 2 wks im sure youll be fine. somone else will pop up with more pointers. goodluck

the heat in my place will be off so temperatures will probably fall into the low 60s for sure. the place should be frigid im in the northwest and we have plenty of snow right now. If i do shoe boxes do i need to hang them upside down?? I thought that hanging them is best..?

water them before you leave, let them dry and vine ripen in the pots...they should be super stoney !!

i dont get what that means let them dry and vine ripen in the pots. With no light present? Wouldn't it just die from not being fed?

I would put the herb in plastic bags, leaving the bags open, and putting those bags inside large brown supermarket bags, folding over the tops of the brown bags to close them. The brown paper bags will slowly dry and cure your herb, while the plastic prevents them from drying too quickly and getting crispy.

either let them go a little longer or slow dry them over the course of 2 weeks.

keep humidity relatively higher and it'll take 2 weeks to dry. should be good when you get back.

Chop a day or two before you leave and Quick dry , with a dehumidifier if possible .
Keep a lot of stem/branch on it and seal it up it'll rehidrate ready for you to burp after vacation .

Although i like the leave it in the pot option
^
Load's of good ideas here .

just hang your plant in a cool dry spot like your attick

Dont trim your plants and you will be fine

You'll have smelly sticky non dry weed

hey bro, either water the plants and let them dry in the pots, or just cut, hang up and hope for the best.

yeah THC is right.Let them in a dry place without cut the leaves. You need more work to cut them when you will back but they should dry slower.

I don't think let the plant drying in the pot is a good idea.I think it will become brown, almost dead. It's not the same if you cut the plant from the roots

Good luck with your harvest bro
