i think TKUg13 is one of the more easily found cuts in finland. and really maybe the most known too. TKUg13 and KPOrockaberry are the most circulated i believe.

i've smoked TKUg13 and didnt really like it, total 100% zombieweed, at least for my brain chemistry. it's a proven producer though and is damn potent. just very very dull and stoney.

Thank you for the info Suomi-Prkl! I personally don't like "zombie-weeds" but i do know some who will appreciate it. I'm kind of battling a little with the variety which i'm going to keep. Let's see if i can get an update for later today. Got to do some adjusting in the grow. I have to say that it is most stressful sometimes when you think that everything is going smoothly but some minor detail hits you in the face from time to time and crushes your self-esteem. Yesterday it was an odor leak.

FFS. Don't need no security concerns right now...

So off we go - there is work to be done! C ya later. And thanks for dropping by potche!

Quick update.

Going to snap some pictures from the bloomers tomorrow. I dedicated today to vegging plants and general arrangements of the grow space.

I'm glad to say that vegging tent is almost ready to bloom! Kalis are a bit odd at the moment. As you can see from the pictures they aren't growing upwards which is quite funny. But there is a couple of reasons for that. 1st being ph a tad low for a day or two. 2nd the lack of air movement and 3rd too cold temperatures.

But anyway here they are. Growing strong - except for one. It has shown some signs of recovering but i am not going to wait for it. If it dies it is removed. I do not have (unfortunately) the time to wait for it and i think i've got enough plants to cover for the loss.

I also need some help from you finns because i would like to identify this mysterious Kali Mist. Maybe i heard it wrong and it is Cali Missy but...i was not that stoned...I most definately think that it is spelled as Kali Mist. Feel free to help me a bit.

So after i put all the plants back to the tent it turned out to be like this:

Filled up really nice!

Some closeups

Santa Maria #4

Swazi #2

I also took some 30 cuttings so that every strain is going to make it for the next round. I think i am not going to ditch anything else than lemon skunk.

As for bloomers. That Swazi is completely nut case. It most definately apperciates light and warmth. The nugs that are nearest to light have started to grow..don't know how you express it in english. In finnish we say pursuaa - trickling maybe? It is most definately the heaviest yielder that i have never ever seen. But Santa does not loose the fight. The nugs are hard as rocks! F me. I need to get a better camera for some macros because this current one does not give the credit to the nugs they deserve.

As for odor - i assembled an air refreshner - closed an air vent and tried to create more under pressure to the space with a blower. We'll see how it turns out but i am much more confident than in the morning.

Peace!

Edit: And thanks for stopping by Highlight. Get that Swazi - it is awesome!

Kali Mist
[Serious Seeds]

Sativa 80/90
Origins - 2 sativa dominant hybrids
Flowering - 70-90 days
Harvest - Early November

Kali Mist was developed in the early 1990s, when many primo sativas from mysterious origins were gathered and selectively bred. Kali has had a series of fathers, creating slight differences based on time period. Seeds first sold under this name strongly resembled the typical Southeast Asian sativa, but an interim father in the 1990s gave the offspring a more Afghani look. With the new millennium, Kali's third father has returned it to a strongly sativa appearance.

Kali plants grow to a medium height with long internodes and medium-long fan leaves. The plant's structure is "open", meaning it's possible to see all the way through the sapce between the plants. This structure promotes good quality buds along the entire length of the stem because light can penetrate through the entire plant. Big individual flowers cluster closely together to form buds that are mostly leafless in 75 percent of the plants. The other quarter form a more traditional bud with many leaflets. On both types, glandular trichomes abound.

Seedlings are ready to flower after 30-40 days of vegetative growth, when they should be clipped to avoid undainly heights. Clones are ready for flowering as soon as they are rooted, about 3-4 dyas. Indoor growing is recommended, by any method, including sea of green. Kali can be attempted outside where long growing seasons prevail.

With a sweet scent and flavor that spans both the sweet and spicy, this variety offers a cerebral high that leaves the mind clear and focused. Kali Mist's effects have proven beneficial for medical users with multiple sclerosis, fatigue, and chronic pain. A popular choice among women, Kali Mist is a great all-day pot that can enhance energetic outdoor activities or more meditative, thoughtful pastimes.

1st place, High Times Cannabis Cup hydro division 1995
1st place, High Times Cannabis Cup sativa category 2000
Maybe i should just learn how to google.

Edit: Ffs i really miss Jeti! Share your thoughts maybe? I really loved the strain. From time to time i feel miserable because i ditched it as an ultimate rookie because i took some AK-47 cuttings and... :(

To any foreigners: If you ever happen to get a cut of a Finnish only strain JETI you are lucky bastards. The taste, the smell the yield and the f**ing high - I used to fly with it walking down the road! Ever felt it? :D

200th post comes with colors of autumn.

Swazi

Purpling because of the night temperatures. Wounded really really bad in the battle. Drinking only water and wont see life beyond two weeks. Sad but hey at least i am happy! ;)

Santa Maria #3

Smells like juicy fruit. Nugs that are closest to the lamp are rock hard. On a water diet too.

Soon its time to do some :tree: again.

:D

So harvest timed at christmas? Nice :D

Regarding jeti: wasn't the lineage something like ingermar's punch x ice? Might have read that from the local forums ages ago.

Aye - so i've heard. Supposedly it could be reconstructed but i guess it would be a hell of a job specially for a rookie like me. Heard it's kindred was chosen very carefully. I also heard that the cutting i had could still be alive somewhere but it is usually pain in the ass to try to arrange fair deals with people in this industry around here. Shitty clones and the price you have to pay back...shieeet.

...but indeed there would someone have a great project because it simply was awesome! Long flowering time (10-12 weeks) and stretchy bitch with the pheno i had but it was well worth it. And if done properly a heavy yielder too. Just needs veg time to top, crop and prune to avoid too long length of internodes. I still can sometimes smell JETI in my mind. Once you've had it it never lets you go. So seductive.

Everything looking tip top here brotherman! :)

You need to put that swazi around bro ;) She looks GOOD!

About Jeti..Jeah Inkku x Ice in my opinion.. I might be able to get original seeds from my older hippie pals..Think one of them had something involved making it. But anyway he got some hundreds of them original seeds couple years back.
Just hope he hasn't been giving them all away.. Need to call him. If your interested bro.. I like inkku more than jeti.. So I don't care to grow them.

Jeah bro STAY SAFE AND GROW ON!!!

Time to raise this s**t! :dance013:

Time is a bending concept and as always (sadly) it bends forward. But nevertheless got my gear up and running again. Got rid of those two 120cm tents and bought one 150cm & one second grade 120x65 propagation homebox tent for cuttings and veggers. Dropped one 600w so from now on i only have one but also ditched cooltubes = running barebulb from now on.

Strains are the same without lemon skunk. Also got a Destroyer and Blue Haze cuts which will be really nice addition to Kali Mist, Swazi, TKUG13 and Santa Maria. Swazi and Santa Maria are two of the best strains that i've come across. Good smoke and good yield - keepers for sure.

Gonna post some pictures at the end of this week but now i would like to ask your opinion about some things considering soil. It is my first time to fire up some soil plants and i got all kinds of additives to go with them.

The soil itself is just basic garden soil (assuming that it contains ionic nutrients = not completely organic) with 30% perlite/coco mix for better drainage. I chose canna vega/flores (with bio rhizotonic and bio boost) for base nutes but there was a discount at the local hydo shop so we got a shopping frenzy with a friend of mine and bought the following:

Piranha, Tarantula & carboload from AN
Mineral Magic from GHE
Superthrive
Seaweed extract (finnish brand)
Diamond Nectar from GHE
BioHeaven from BioBizz

Now i know what to do with seaweed extract. It's great for foliar spray (together with crushed co2 pills) and arbitary additive for feeding. Also i know how to apply superthrive. But what to do with the rest... So if you got any suggestions of the schedule with soil and all give me a hint. I do know that when applying bioheaven one should cut nutrients because it may cause an overdose. Diamond nectar used to be one of the base ingredients when i grew with hydro systems but i don't have any clue that will it do any good with soil?

So pictures later - opinions now... :)

So here we go. Got 2x250w ESL lights for veggers. Prolly going to need only one but we'll see that when i've got perpertual schedule up and running. And finally learned how to clone to coco - and it kicks ass big time! Good health throughout rooting process and super easy. If anyone has any trouble with cloning straight to coco ask for help.

And bloomroom...switched to 12/12 today. You might notice that some of the plants have a bit of a light burn / wind burn marks. Hopefully it is from having too dry environment for a week. I still have to fine tune some things. I am not sure if the distance from the bulb to canopy is anywhere near optimum - have to wait and see. Luckily i have 2 cooltubes stashed away so if i have too little room for a barebulb i'll just hook up one 400w and one 600w (...or maybe one 600 hps and one 600 mh). Time will tell.

Running 5 plants in soil and others in coco. Any advices oh great ones?!

EDIT:

Also got blumats but not installed because i haven't figured out how to set them up. If you have any suggestions with my problem feel free to comment:

After this gets up and running properly i'm going to harvest plants in undefined schedules. So how the hell am i going to adjust proper nutrients for each plant. Should i buy a shitload of shut off valves and tubing and set up three or four different reservoirs? Shieeet... Anyway they will be easy to set up when ready.

Got some netting to support the plants. Also measured the final radius between lamp and canopy. 30cm from bulb to nearest plant. What do you think? Too close maybe...

:comfort:

Anyway some pictures:

Coconutters rootporn:

Veggers still need a fan - a bit too low air movement at the moment:

Gladly Blue Haze and Destroyer are feeling allright. Rooting cuttings then again not, too hot. Well can't win always and i'm still on front row :)

Looking great! My only question would be as to how fast the fans under the lamps are moving... b/c I just had DHF school me on why the fan needs to be low powered. If you have it cranked up, it could be causing some heavy transpiration in your plants, giving them that burned look. Distance from the lamps looks good to me. Nice clean setup. Looking forward to your results.
