cloning straight into 1 gal. with dirt

I HATE rockwool! I've tried every method of cloning and I'm really liking this method. I'm taking the cuts, dipping them in gel, putting them straight into a 1 gallon pot with dirt and putting a clear cup over them. It's really successful and a lot less work. So far I've done Hindu Skunk, Super Lemon Haze, and Super Silver Haze. Anyone else tried this?

I use fox farms happy frog, ocean forest, and some home made compost.

glad you found a way that works for you... u want roots in as little as 5 days? go buy or make yourself and aerocloner. they work like magic

I've used aerocloners. I like this way better. I guess I'm just lazy. I always have too many plants and it's successful so why not go straight into the pot?

I think that in a lot of cases, hydro owners make us think we need all their expensive products and really complicate things. I believe in "keep it simple stupid"!

id like to build an aerocloners thou cant beat the 5 day rooting of them.

im on the same page as you man. i cant seem to get clones rooted in rockwool even letting them soak for 30 minutes in 5.0 PH water. I only get good results when i clone in soil.

I second the jiffy's,,, jiffy's are the shit to clone with!!! Also the trays and domes are small and compact,,, Can hide/put them anywhere,,, I've seen the trays & domes as small as 6,,, I personally use the 12!!!,,,, Can't beat'em!!! Cheap as $1.99-$3.00!

Even if they are cheap, going back to the store time and time again could make people interested. I had a guy at home depot outright ask me if I was growing. I think he was flirting with me but still. You already have 1 or 5 gallon pots so why not go straight into them if you have the room.

Straight up coco, moisten it, scape to expose some cambium, dip it, and done. Great success.

You can also use a clear cup inside a clear cup. Drill some holes at the bottom of one and put it in the other. Then put your cut in there and put another cup on top. I'm doing it without the cup on top but if you need the humidity use one. This way you can see your roots.

I'm not sure if you'll find this to be faster, but you won't have to buy the jiffy plugs and you skip that step altogether.
