Well my small space does not do well for flowering big plants vertically. Yield is down considerably and i'm going back to Scrog, since i miss it. I'm going to break my chamber up into two separate parts. The top where vert is now, will be extended higher up and will consist of a 70w HPS in cool tube. This way plants will get tall and stretchy so i can fill out the screen.

The bottom area will be an air cooled hood for my 150w, soon to be either 250w or 400w. I will split the area up like this so i can have more flowering plants more often while being easier to control.

Now onto the real business. I'm sorry Steele for taking so long to pop these. I know you wanted a grow that people can use as a reference, so from now until these seeds are gone i'm dedicating all my future seed popping to Ancient Afghan. I popped 3 seeds so far and have another 10 to go. Just need to clear out some space in the veg cab.

I want to see what kind of indiviudals stand out in this pack. I'm excited for the Afghan.. I'm gonna be on the lookout for a female that would cross well to the Trainwreck x Afghan from Mother Chucker. Someone had told me that the Afghani used in the Trainwreck may very well be related to the AA. I believe it to based on looks. Theres some crazy pheno's to be found it looks like.

Steele- How is the veg time on these? Is it typical of other Affies like DC or Hindu Kush? I'm excited to see how these turn out.

Thanks Cannatopia.

I really cant believe i didnt pop these sooner after looking at the pics. It looks like a stretchier version of deep chunk with the classic leaf tip covered in resin. Plus i got some older friends that always talk about the Affies that taste like this. Its time to give them a try. Also for me to broaden my senses on pushing the limits in a 1.5ft square...

Well just a note for future references. I'm ditching the 150w and moving up to a 250w. I really wanted a 400w but decided i shouldnt get greedy with my stealth situation. If i can continue to pull at least .5gpw i'll be good for a perpetual setup. I'm gonna wait to buy a bigger cab. I just couldnt justify spending another $100 for a tent only 6" bigger than my current.

The main reason i went with the 250w is when i move up again in the future to a 600w i can use this to veg. Got a digital ballast since my 70w HPS one is so quiet and cool. I decided it was about time since they've come down in price some if your willing to take a risk. UL certified, 5 year warranty and $130 for a Super HPS bulb, MH 4k bulb and economy reflector(which i'm gonna attach my cool tube to.)

I'm pretty excited, just wish i could upgrade to a bigger cab :(

Going away this weekend. Gonna have to transplant the new seedlings before i leave just to insure they have enough water. so far i have 5/5 ELE(Sour Diesel Grapefruit pheno F2's x Alpha diesel) and 2/3 Ancient Afghans.

When i get back i should have my new Secret Jardin Dark Propagator for flowering my 250w. I'll plant the rest of the pack on Ancient Afghans i have so i can run through them. So far i've noticed a great deal of vigor with the seedlings. They were put directly in soil and popped up with no seed casing in a full day. Pretty good for a pure afghan!

these beasts veg way faster than most kushes ive worked with but they are still on the slow side. Def stocky 100% indica genes.

So far they seem to be pretty quick, but that's only from the towel which they had grown through. Now they're in soil which they secured themselves in overnight.

Also my Prophet F2's have crazy vigor, and seem faster than the first set of Prophet I had.

Got 9 AA's up and running in the back container. They're chugging right along....

i'm so excited for some more Prophet, I can only hope for a female!! 2 Prophet F2's really moving in the solo cup and square pot. The other 5 in peat pots are Caligula for outdoors...

Looks good BB, maybe a little fert but lookin good. In regards to yer question, they veg with a fair speed, lot faster than DC.... Not related or having ANY characteristics to DC. But as you stated, I believe this Ghani to have been a parent to the infamous Trainwreck, as she is reminiscent in aroma, growth pattern and palette.

Really happy to see you and vaped growing these out and showing folks tha Ancient Afghan,
Thanks,
Steele

oops i forgot to mention the clone sitting in there is trying hard but nothing.... Also the nitrogen problem has been a constant struggle I've been facing. I need to hit the plants with a lot of nitrogen because of the peat pots and a new soil mix which utilized too much biochar without being soaked in a nitrogen rich medium. This soaks up all the available nitrogen so it has to be a real constant supply.

I have since stopped using the floro's for now, and opted for my 150w CMH and is showing increased benefits. Only problem is my fan has been dead and I'm waiting on a new one to arrive.

Here's some updates....starting with Ancient afghan of course. Nitrogen problems are starting to get a little bit better. The colors on my camera kinda give a little more yellow tint to things. The one seedling in the back is not yellow like that...

Here you can see the 2-Prophet F2's on the left. One of them is loving the 150w CMH, the other is struggling with nitrogen issues..

Finally in a permanent location, so good things are coming since i can finally expand a wee bit...Also I'm finally getting to where i need to be in a perpetual setup...I love when plans come together from a shitty past year....No more stealth for me

Finally getting a new flower chamber also :dance013:

NOTE: Better organized the veg cab today for the sake of this test. Here's a pic showing all the AA's together. Have some weird leaf traits on some, others just have an older school looking leaf pattern. Real serrated, some kushy, some more sativa..

I had a super bad multiple bug infetation which brought things to the edge. I didnt lose any plants, but they didnt look good for an extended period. Things are back on track now though, with 6 Ancient Afghans in flower. Some plants are still showing problms, but are getting over it.

All of the Ancient Afghans except the flowering one have just been placed in...

Sorry for missing some update.

I had harvested one AA and reminds me of a masterkush we used to have in the late 90's. Its almost hazy with its smell but is pure spice, really unexplainable. After a good cure should be what Im looking for. Some have a sweetness to them also.

I have 4 more in there right now, looking much different than the first 2 I had. Most of them have super dark leaves reminding me of sour bubble or deep chunk with trichomes on the leaves. (Taking more pics later)

These plants are very unique and I think underrated also. The variety here has given me flavors I have longed for in a while, which no neo-kush can compare. The smells are not the typical ones sought after nowadays and high not heavy like g13. I can see what Steele means when he says they are good for outbreeding due to some of the traits here such as thick branches with buds to match. Some fast, branchy beasts like this girl

And some Prophet photos. I love her, the frostiest thing always packing it on early. I'm guessing she's somewhere around day 35-40.

Other Prophet I mistook for a male early on, but turned out being female.

Well a lot has changed since yesterday. I got the rest of my plants in the cab and tied the Afghans down a little further to promote more light penetration. These 'ghani's grow thick waxy leaves and a lot of them at that, but they grow nice dense buds it seems. This first picture is one girl. She is the branchiest plants ive hand in my garden so far. I love her smell kinda like a sour bubblegum or somethin.

The vaiation between these girls is pretty unique. They all have relative resemblances but then differ in so many ways, especially smell and resin. All of them have an old school look, though with smells ranging from green bubblegum to spicey, hazy/woody tones.
