this isnt about politics,
although the example is saturated in the profession.

oldpink recently shouted out to US americans, to be sure and defeat a certain personality and possible candidate.

hes got a good point, but he MISSES the more cogent point that,

the power pushing this specific candidate, WINS,

whether or not the candidate actually wins or loses in the election.

when a certain candidate wins media attention,
the words and phrases they choose to describe things, gains a precedence in mainstream dialogue

many CANDIDATES in america today, are extreme racist, who hate women and want to revert the rules of the workplace into allowing for children to work in industrial jobs,

just as was the case here in america in 1776

when media, and the election cycle GIVES these racist misogynist freedom hating bigots a minute of air space at the microphone to make their pitch,

it EXCLUDE enlightenment values,

justice for all,
freedom of speech,
free access to protection under the law,

because,

you cant allow a racist to blather on at the microphone,
without pushing the non racist position into a corner,

there is just so many syllables you can fit into a given minute of air time...

it isnt ENOUGH to defeat these fucked in the head and gunning to rape your children throwbacks at the poll,

the powers they front for, win, simply by intruding into civil society, and pre-empting civility, as the air of their position via public airwaves is...

you cant defeat these homophobic women hating war love religious wackos, until you know enough to organize your society soas to exclude them from using the public space and airwaves to foment their hatred and dominionist idealism,

the fact they are on the ballot,

means they have won, and you have lost,

no matter the elections outcome

that's right the only way to ensure justice and liberty is to control the air waves and not allow certain people to speak. that's enlightened.

their fame augments their political carreir. afterall its not who has brains that can win its a popularity contest, when that framework, changes then mabey itll be a little better.

another good change/requirment would be if they have to get a job like the rest of us to be in office.

I feel you, but freedom of speech is one of, if not the most important freedom we possess, and with that we must take the good the bad and the ugly. When someone uses that freedom to spout racism, it should be ignored, or spoken out against. But, taking away this right, even from a racist, is bad for all of us.
