Secret Jardin DR's are good, but has anyone used and compared the new DR Mk.II's?

Thanks
Greners just started shipping the new versions. I have the original DR120 (still in the box) and looking at the new description:
Still a ceiling weight limit of 30 kg (66lb) but the new plastic corners are supposedly 3x stronger.
I like the repositioned filter vent hole--it is now out the right side instead of vertically at the rear corner of the ceiling. On the old model, I was planning to cut the fabric and install a double flange in the side wall.
The new fabric is supposedly stronger.

Has to be said, early on. Peeps may get the wrong ideas.
The only thing these tents are good for is providing a seperate environment that your plants will enjoy.

You can't hide a tent in full swing jammed with herb. Not with a velcro flap, or a sok, or anything other than a secure space that no one else can go in... and if you have that, then you don't need a 100% lightproof or 100% odour tight tent.

This is obviously not in many manufacturers blurb. They would like everyone to think that mum won't detect this throbbing obelisk in the back of the bedroom closet, cos it's zipped up tighter than a gnats chuff.

I think the idea of a tent is to have a prefab environment that u can put up and take down within an hour if needed..i dont think stealth has ever had anything to do with it. That said Ive had a 2 people ask me why i store my ice hut open..Im going to paint a logo on it just for fun !!

Peace Te Lilman

My reasons for using a tent:
The room has finished walls and an acoustical ceiling that would be impractical to repair if I built temporary partitions.
The area around the tent will be used for vegging.
The tent will be used for controlling odor.
Hoping for some benefit from reflective side walls of the tent.
A tent will prevent me from overgrowing the entire house.
:)

sanjuan also make sure you keep the humidity down and air circulating, I'm ordering a larger sj for flowering but in lare december were tearing down a wall to combine 2 bedroom into one and getting a larger tent.

as for the odor don't be fooled into thinking it will keep it down as much as you think I would still recommend a charcoal filter & fan for the odor.

good luck amigo

Thanks for the tips. I just decided to reduce my plant count so I can have reciprocating tower fans at each end of my 4.5" x 6.5' HydroHut. I've got a phresh carbon filter in the tent and ozone outside if needed. Also have a 50pt dehumidifier in the outer room.

Again, anyone rocking a 250 in a dr80? Or is that to little of light?
Should I go with the dr60 for my 250hps?
Thanks again

By my calculations, the DR60 gives you 64.5W/sqft
The DR80 would be 36.3W/sqft
A lot of people like the idea of 50W/sqft (or more) of HPS.

The DR80 gives an additional 6 inches of height.

Shit my post didn't get up I guess I closed out my page before posting it lol.... Midget I would go with a Grow Lab GL80 much better built cuz I started with a DR80. I also recommend getting a 400w HPS or at least some 4ft t5 strips to put in the corners and you'd do alright with the 250 that way. It's always good to have room to upgrade your lighting you know??

i thought a 400 would be to much for my GL80 before i got it..... i was wrong. dont get me wrong, a 400 in there works like a charm. but recently i upgraded (again) to a 600hps for that GL80 and im in love with it. just be sure to have a small duct fan pullin air from your light (cooltube/hood) i started just like you with a 250, not even a couple months later i got a 400, and another 400. this 600 is the best money ive spent. go big

Nice thanks guys, this is going to sound dumb, but for some reason im worried about the extra power a 400 would take up over a 250hps. Stealth in mind... I know its not much extra.....just being paranoid I guess...talk me into the 400 over the 250. lol
thanks again FARM, THUND AND JUAN!

hmm... talk you into it? i wouldnt feel right doing that. but like you said... its not that much more power and as long as you have your operations on the down-low you have nothing to worry about. most computers and space heaters and shit like that run way more power. the space heater i use runs like 1250 watts. more than my 600&400w.

p.s. i just wanted to show my beautiful PPP clone. i love the colors they put out near the end of it all :tiphat:

I am torn between the DS60 and the DR60
The DS 2 is a little taller(not an advantage in my case) but looks to be better built.

I haven't seen a Dark Street myself but I'd say spend the extra money and get the Dark Room. I wouldn't want to go with any cheaper construction than a Dark Room (first edition).
Edit: oh, I guess there is a new edition of the Dark Street--so I dunno.

Come on guys I started the club with a DarkRoom if they were really good don't you think I would have stayed with them when upgrading to a bigger tent??? Grow Labs are the way to go folks I wish I would have researched more when I got my fist tent....

Also when it comes to 250w HPS or the 400w you should have a no brainer moment and go with the 400 bro. I used to get just as good of cola's with 252w worth of CFLs in my micro grows and then I went to the 400 and I had plants like this....
