I recently posted on the BHO thread and simply noted that there were several other methods that could yeild oil that was equally as good as BHO (or in some cases better).
I also stated that I had no desire to step on the BHO thread and asked members to contact me if they were interested in the other methods.
The response has prompted me to start a new thread of other ways to produce very high quality hash oil.
Before we begin I have to warn you that all these methods use highly flamable and potentially explosive solvents.
As with BHO production if you try to cheat and take shortcuts you can DIE! That is no joke or exaturation.
You should never attempt to produce hash oil if you are not sober and wide awake. ALWAYS finish your production and clean up before sampling your product.
I would also recomend that you use the reclaimation methods that I will recomend. The same equipment used to reclaim your solvents is the same equipment you will use to refine your cheap solvents into lab quality solvents.
Most of the methods I will post use alcohol or acetone as a base solvent.
I personally use 190 proof or better ethanol. I am not saying ethanol is better than 95% iso or acetone. My reason is pure economics.
I ferment a mash of corn and barly in my grow room to add co2 when fermentation is complete I distill the ethanol from the mash in a small refracting still that I made for less than 300 US dollars.
We will go into the details of the still in a later post.
I have heard some people comment on the fact that ethanol distillation is illegal. In the US it is legal to make small amounts foe your own consumption. I think it is 2 gallons. even if it is illegal in your area.....I expect that making hash oil is just as illegal ( and probably has a harsher penalty) LOL.
You can buy a lab grade hot plate with a temp controler or you can use a double boiler to provide the heat for your processes.
My next post will have some drawings and pics of how to make and use a lot of the equipment as well as how to properly use them.
Peace and love
