Is it possible to get raided & NOT GET ARRESTED?

Last week a friend of mind got kick doored by a the local city SWAT. However, he did not go to jail and there are some major inconsistencies that make it sound like he got robbed instead of raided. The first thing is that he and his roomate did not go to jail the day of getting raided despite having hash and magic shroomies. The police said they had to "measure the dry weight" before they could make an arrest. The city swat took my friends phone, half a stack of cash, all the plants, the lights, the hash and slashed the wires to the ballast. They were in a white unmarkred van and were blacked out head to toe in matching uniforms. They left a warrant and an itemized list of the things that they took with a signature. They said that they would contact my friend through his roomate when the investigation is ready to go to court. They also told my friend that they were not going to tell the land lord of the property. Does this make sense? Hash is a state and federal felony so why would he not go to jai?

Edit*= stack of cash=$10k. 1/2 a stack of cash=$5k Meaning that they took $5000 on his person. NOT taking half of the cash that he had

I really doubt it. His roomate however, is questionable. I think if my friend was a snitch, he would have already had his opportunity and would try to keep this thing a secret as opposed to letting others know about this sketchy situation

snitch, sorry. He had to talk, because someone did/could have found out and if he had forgotten to mention this to his friends and one person knew, then the snitching would have been obvious.

Here are some facts
1. Cops would have arrested them
2. Thieves wouldn't take "half a stack of cash"

Maybe your friend isn't a snitch, if the roomate has something to offer them, he may be able to snitch enough for the both of them. Poly drug manufacturing houses don't get raided in progress with product on hand and not have immediate arrests.

I'm sorry, sucks to hear. Clean house depending on how "good" a friend these people were...

By the sounds of it your buddy and/or his roommate turned into state evidence aka SNITCH. He probably told you the story just in case somebody he knew found out about the raid. IF they werent talking, they would have been taken to jail and held until they were charged. I'd stay away from him and limit what information you let him in on, people always choose to save their own ass and bring a few others down with them to lessen the severity of the charges.

Somebody that a friend of mine worked with got busted after picking up 10#'s +, and a friend on mine that was unrelated to the situation drove past the traffic stop where this guy was pulled over by 3 unmarked D's. Next thing you know this guy doesnt go to jail, makes up a bs story about a speeding ticket and two weeks later routinely goes to pick up and his dealer gets busted.....im just sayin even if he isnt snitchin, its better to be safe than sorry

i dont think so guys.
if he was caught growing, with lights and plants, who can he snitch on????????
what state is this in, thats the major question.
them matching in all black(let me guess, face masks also), leaving a list of what they took...
the hardest part for me to believe is they took your lights. most of the time, the police have very limited room for evidence, so they will simply cut all your ballasts, and break all the bulbs and reflectors.
also, how big we talking, how many k of lights? how much weed taken? if its just a few, i would bet this is real. if it was over 4k, and they got a few lbs, unless its a med friendly state, maybe a roll.

but remember, if they catch a grower, who can he really rat on? to most cops unless its a big op, thats the top

edit: also, where i was, the cops had no idea about hash, oil, or keif, and left all hash, oil, and keif, along with everything to make it. all they took were plants buds pipes scales money guns and camera memory cards

growers can snitch on buyers, who in turn may be buying from other growers etc.

Dry weight? cops dont dry shit, they weigh it up as is.

Something is wrong here. You may want to pull police reports from the local PD/Sheriff's office. You can also check the courthouse, as the case moves on, most documents are public record

Your friends roomate could be snitchin without your friend even knowing. But no doubt dont take calls from these dudes for a while..long while..

LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE STORY.....

about 20 years ago(when i was a stupid teen....) me and my friends used to rob sheds and tool trucks for tools....

one night we had stolen a van and had stolen about 20k in tools(including generators, air compressors/tools....ect) and stored it all at my parents house.....

as we were getting done unloading it, we seen cops comming around the corner on foot with the car parked at the corner....my buddy ran and jumped the fence and i ran in the house and stripped and made it look like i was sleeping....

the cops came to the door and talked to my parents and asked what was going on and wanted to speak with me. i told them i just woke up and didnt know what was going on...they left and that was that...

the next day from when i woke up(like 8am), i seen undercovers parked in nieghbors driveways and laying in their yards with camo.....

needless to say they busted in my parents house around 3 pm when the got their warrant, they took all the tools, left a warrant copy with us and a list of all items seized........and we never heard from them again.....

so just because they took the stuff doesnt mean they arnt comming back, but it also doesnt mean they are....

my guess is they got their warrant last minute, and they now need time to process the evidence and build a case....if they think their case isnt strong enough then you wont hear from them again.....

best advice i can give....GET A LAWYER.....he will be able to find out whats going on and if you are getting charged or not....and by getting a lawyer now you will be prepared for any eventualities that may come down the road....

PS...we were all stupid kids once....some more than others...but we grow up, learn, and change....so pls dont judge me of my past of 20 years ago....

Good story man...No judging here, we were all young and stupid.... And I'm sure most of us did soome shit that wasn't cool a time or 2....

To the OP, You need to lay low and stay clear of your boy for awhile, either way he will understand....

This makes no sense--
The first question I have, is were they all "Ninja'd out"?? Because it is usually only the ones that work undercover ops that do that...and I believe it is Procedure to have unmasked Officers there...otherwise how would you know they were cops, if you can't match a face to an ID Card when they identify themselves upon/after entering??
The next..."half a stack of cash"?? Neither Cops nor Robbers would do that--
I have never seen a Raid, (And I have been in several) that the leading Detective did not leave his card along with the paperwork--
It just doesn't add up....at this point, I will have to go with the "Snitch" crowd-- Sounds like your friend made up part of this--:tiphat:

This sounds exactly like what is bout to happen as this is the dirty south. I refer to $10k= a stack of cash. My buddy had bout half of that in the house and they took it. Sorry for any confusion of my terminology. Less than 4k lights for sure. Probably less than a couple of lbs. My buddy is a first time offender for anything weed related period. I think he is small fish in the eyes of the cops. I trust that he is rational enough to realize this. He was actually talking bout closing down shop b/c he had an instinct that this was bout to happen. He just chose a bad partner to do this sort of thing with. I can think of a handful of enemies including a barhead girlfriend that could've tip the cops off or chose to rob my buddy on account of his dumbass roomate. That barhead girlfriend has f'ed up many times and "blamed it on the bars" and was forgiven by the roomate. This could be another blame it on the bars situation. The roomate has cheated on other pplz g/f's and probably pissed off the wrong dude. I don't trust the room mate b/c he is a self serving bastard. Knowing this from day one makes me very confident on treating information on a NEED TO KNOW basis in general with this bastard.

Now my friend's room mate is the type to squeal but I don't have anything to worry about. It's my other dumbass friends that continue to deal with the roommate is who I'm worried bout. They continue to sell this dumbass bastard pills so that he can escape these consequences instead of manning up to them. My friend that got busted however, is the type of stand up dude to face the music.

The first question I have, is were they all "Ninja'd out"??
yes. no visible faces out of the handful of them. Usually they enter a house identifying themselves as the police. My buddy said they only were calling the first and last name of his room mate. I have not talked to him since thanksgiving.

PUT IT THIS WAY....THERE IS NO WAY RIPPERS OR THIEVES WOULD HAVE SLASHED YOUR BALLAST CORDS....ONLY COPS DO THAT....IF IT WAS RIPPERS THEY EITHER WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE EQUIPMENT, OR NOT TOUCHED IT IN HOPES OF COMMING BACK IN A FEW MONTHS AND SCORING AGAIN.....

WHEN I HAD MY PLACE BUSTED IN FOR GROWING A FEW YEARS AGO....WHEN THE COPS GOT THERE I HAD ALREADY REMOVED THE LIGHTS...ALL THE FOUND WAS THE ROOM AND 60 BUCKETS OF DIRT(I RIPPED THE PLANTS WHEN I KNEW THEY WERE COMING...LONG STORY)

INSTEAD OF TAKING THE REST OF THE EQUIPMENT THEY TOOK A PRY-BAR/CROBAR AND PUT HOLES IN MY WALLS EVERYWHERE...THE A/C WAS TOO BIG AND HEAVY SO THEY PUT HOLES IN IT TOO.....THEY LEFT ALL MY EQUIPMENT AS WELL....

maybe they were busting in to rob or arrest the roommate for some reason. otherwise, why would they not have identified themselves as police and only mentioned the roommate's name. or maybe the roommate has a gambling or debt problem and owes these guys money and they aren't police at all. any way you slice it, stay far away from all involved. feel sorry for your buddy, but obviously you shouldn't contact him to tell him to get away from those people.

and why did your buddy feel like this was coming down the pipe? the whole thing sounds sketchy . . .

im sry first off. second there is a snitch. may not be ur friend but there is a snitch. but if i were to rob someone i would gank all of the equipment with everything else unless i didnt have the room to take it all then i would cut cords/break shit. but it does sound like whom ever he snitched to either told the cops or his friends. it is Fed law that there has to be a seizure report as well as the detective in charge has to leave info so u can contact them. sounds all in all like a fucked deal. i would say for him to get a lawer and fight it. gl man and if i were u i would cut tail and run cuase u dont want to get mixed in with all of this. gl and stay safe.....

maybe they were busting in to rob or arrest the roommate for some reason.
Both people were at the scene when the "cops" busted my buddy and his room mate. Both ppl have their freedom currently. I would say that if this was a collection, it wasn't gambling debts as the room mate has more of an addiction to pills over anything else. I know the room mates pill dealer, so I would know of any excruciating debts.

and why did your buddy feel like this was coming down the pipe? the whole thing sounds sketchy . . .
A couple months prior to this event, the room mates bar-head girlfriend started yelling " MY NAME IS BLAH BLAH BLAH AND I GROW LBS IN MY HOUSE!" in a residential suburb with families sleeping at like 2am. This was one of those "blame it on the bars" situations. The room mate forgave his g/f the very next day. I think it was the bar-head girlfriend that lead to the bust. Either that, or the handful of other guys that the room mate has f'ed over. What goes around comes around I figure. Too bad my friend had to get tagged in the crossfire.

i agree about the schlurr gf. if that's what comes out of her mouth when she "can't help herself" b/c she's "wasted," then you know that the incident you know about was probably not the only incident.

maybe it was some sleazy friends of hers coming to do a rip or somebody that heard her mouth off, but it's probably got something to do with her. i doubt it was even the cops, in the end. sad, isn't it? your friend is fucked b/c his partner chose (and chose to stay with) the wrong girl.

i think your best bet is to stay away from you friend and his roomate and there friends for at least 6 month. Give it time and see how things pan out. if your friend or his roomate is close to you, and know everything about you, then maybe its time to move and change your phone number. Remember, someone is snitching, the cops are gonna want to lock someone up at some point, and investigations can last for years. GOOD LUCK AND BE SAFE!!!
