What's new

yellow/brown spots

Hey guys, I've been trying to figure this one out on my own for a couple days, but with the addition of a cal-mag supplement, vigilant pH control, and a little bit of searching I still can't seem to pinpoint the problem. I started this particular seedling approximately 3-3 1/2 weeks ago and it recently (past week or so) has been developing these irritating brownish-yellow spots. At first I was sure it was either calcium or magnesium, then I thought it might be potassium, finally I had the feeling it might be a pH issue. Either way, my own deductions seem to be letting this poor seedling down and I'd like to know if anyone in the community might be able to help me identify my problem and offer some possible solutions. I've taken a couple leaf pictures so everyone can see, if anyone might need to see more of the plant let me know, I'm happy to throw some more pictures up if it helps my baby :D Thanks in advance everyone!

Have you checked the plant very, very closely for bugs? What about your grow media, have you checked it for bugs? Your problem looks like a calcium issue but I'd check the plant and grow media closely for bugs.

I recently repotted from peat moss/perlite to coco/perlite. I didn't have coco at the location when I first planted them so they had to wait; but to answer your question, yes I have inspected very closely for bugs in both the grow medium and on the plant and there is none to be found. There are other seedlings next to this one and they are all doing fine, but it is possible that the master kush in question may be susceptible to a certain deficiency/disease/pest. Thank you for your personal diagnosis, I will definitely double, triple check for bugs; and if it does happen to be a calcium issue, should a light dose of cal-mag applied on a regular basis correct the problem?

fill out the fom for the infirmary and you will get more response. By the looks of it my guess would be calcium.

my mistake, I didn't realize there was an infirmary form, I'll make sure I don't miss that next time. Sounds like it is calcium related, from all the opinions from various sources. Thanks guys, I appreciate your willingness to help.

I agree with PuReKnOwLeDgE it's best to fill the questionnaire so the community can assist you better.

Nonetheless, if you don't have a bug problem as was asked earlier in the thread - you're spot on to think Cal and Mag deficiency.

I took your photo and played with the colors to get a more detailed view of the spotting and color. I also found Magnesium blotching (the big spots). So check your water and if the pH is fine then you can slowly up the cal/mag for that plant while watching for changes.

Blown up with color enhancement.

That looks like spider mite damage, not nutes.
check the girls out very closely.
a few cause damage like that, any more it will get more severe.
