Watering 50+ in a SOG. Drippers, Wick or Ebb and Flo.

Was wondering if anyone had recommendations for this. Wick and/or EF sounds much simpler, but not sure if I would be getting the full benefits of Coco.

Specifically thinking about, EF with smartpots full of coco. But my understanding is that watering top down is more beneficial in coco. I'm confused.

Comments, ideas, and links to threads are appreciated.

:thank you:

p.s. plants and square footage will be small.

Drip is pretty much the best in all mediums. The problem is most drip systems have no intelligence, they water when the stupid timer tells em to. The Tropf blumat is better because it only waters the plants that need it. And no pumps or timers to fail. See my Sig for the 16ke grow and the big Blumat thread in the growers forums.

Grown with stupid timers & constantly failing pumps.

Last round on tables. Only 2.4# per light.

This round on the floor.

I've looked into them before and will read the thread. Only concern is that they might be too big. I'm planning on running small pots.

Thanks.

They make a Tropf Blumat Jr i believe , it should serve your purpose

it would serve my purpose for watering. but not feeding.

and i think the actual cone or carrot is the same size. It just doesn't drip.

I reread the blumat thread and it seems large numbers are very doable but no one is using the size containers I'm contemplating.

Pico's thread on dripper manifold's seems like what i'm going to need.4" square is probably the biggest i want to go.

Any other suggestions? Or can someone comment on wicking in Coco?

Peace.

I saw a pic in the blumat thread of someone running pots about that size for small seedlings or clones, and I don't see why it wouldn't work? Just shorten the hose down until it's almost dripping onto itself, and you should be good to go. Of course it'll take up some space in your pot, but it will work.

Hi Bynari,

from what i understand you d like to find the best way to irrigate 50 plants and each container is gonna be 4'' max and the medium used is gonna be coco. Is that it?

If I got it right on the upper part of my post i d like to know why u want/need to use coco?
What is the room size u want to use for these 50 plants ?

All the best. Max.

I recently converted my E&F coco pots to wick feeding. Best thing I ever did! Read more about it in the PPK thread:

i would just put them on some sort of waterproof tray or whatnot and just flood the tray with nutes. just make sure you dont let them sit in stagnant solution. you could just throw some air stones in or something
