45 too cold. for indoors you really want a minimum of 60 with lights off and in the 70's lights on.

down to 55 you can just about get away with. look into those pipe/tube heaters which can be used to warm the air as it gets ducted in. also building a small insulated room for the tent can help as it can be heated cheaper than he whole garage.

best thing to do is to try and duct the air in from the house as human comfort temp is about the same as weed comfort temp ;)

I agree. Great Advice friend.

Fill up 1 gallon plastic juice jugs with water. They will absorb the heat during the day and diffuse, to maintain a warmer temp, thru-out the night. Stuff we used to do in greenhouses long ago...

Yeah your yield will take a huge hit with 48 degree temps...You need to get the temps up to atleast 60.........It would help if you ran your lights at night time, and use the exhaust to heat up the room... Thats what I do, that way you are not waisting that exhausted heat.....My night time temps (Which is when the lights are on) is about 65-72, and thats with outside temps in the 30's......

You could also put a small heater with a thermostat inside the room, and it will cut on when the temps get below, say, 60 or so...

In "Marijuana Botany" there is a study regarding the comparison of root and shoot temps. Warm roots with cool shoots grew the most compact plants. Warming the rootzone to maintain 70 degrees will enable you to let room air temps get to 60 degrees, maybe a bit less. Definitely below 58 will affect yield. I 100% agree with Cannatopia that if its comfortable for you its comfortable for the plants. That was my mantra to newb's except I was talking about hot, not cold. I also feel that a swing of no more than 5, 10 degrees max, from night to light increases yield. i kept rooms at 70 night and 75 day. Yields were 2+ per 1000 sodium every 60 days. Every time.

As another poster mentioned try to create a small insulated area if possible. It is much cheaper to go big on insulation than it is to heat with electricity.

From what I have read a large difference between day and night temps will cause extra stretch in early flowering.
