Homeless man finds & returns $3,300 in cash

good thing for karma, cause apparently the college kid didn't do anything to payback the favor. if a homeless person found 3300 dollars that belonged to me and returned it he would of at least gotten like 200 bucks. something. but im sure the cash donation he received was probably more than the 3300, karma wins in the end.

I have traveled this country up and down with nothing more than a backpack and got around with my thumb and trespassing into railroad property and often times had no more than a few bucks to my name. During those times if I had found the bag I would of kept it all. No questions. This guy is a better guy than me too. Finders keepers, losers weepers. If your going to get on a soap box and yell at me this philosophy has also screwed me bad in the past.

Also, if something has an apparent owner you don't take it but a backpack with $3,300 in it..... I don't think I could say no. Not saying its a good thing either.

Wow!
shows that he is a good, honest human....very rare these days......
K++ for him.

If that was my $3,300 I lost and a homeless guy returned it, I'd gladly give him half just for being so honest....and because if I was homeless and found $3,300.....I know I'd be keepin that...

It sounded to me like he did in fact get a reward from the student, but you're right, karma took care of him anyway.

Such a rare story. It's great to see. And this is right around the corner from me too. :D

Hell yea good vibes and best wishes to Talley for keeping it real, doing the right thing. Happy to hear he is getting his reward for passing karmas test, hope it leads him to a good place.

I'm not so sure that in theory his finding that cash would not have been some sort of karma being bestowed upon Dave Talley in itself, the fact that he went one step farther in tracking down its owner and is now being enriched (I'll assume WAY) beyond the $3,300 was a lesson to everyone else that is touched by this article.

This might clear up the point I'm trying to make; that $3300 was meant for Dave Talley and had he kept it & done the right thing with it the world would still seem right, the fact that he returned it was a gift not only to himself but to the rest of us as well.......

if you would of asked me if this would ever happen still in america i would tell you not a chance in hell... im honostly amazed at this story....

a related story a buddy of mine found 8k of 100 bills in a wallet in his gym... the guy never reported it missing or nothing friend turned it in and the guy didnt even thank him or give him a dollar for it... now THATS america...

great story! To be honest, I hear these kind of stories and think "sucker" at first, knowing these people will not likely get anything for their honesty or just a token gesture like a cup of coffee or something, when the person should give the guy like half. But then I think, it is not right to keep it and I would struggle at first but then give it back too, since it is the right thing to do. I am so happy the guy didn't just get screwed like most honest people in these kind of situations do. I am glad he is being rewarded, maybe many times over what he would have had if he had kept the money, by doing the right thing.

This should not be a rare exception but should be the way things always happen in situations like this, on both ends.

Maybe he's just a good honest decent guy who did the right thing, bless him.

There are a few bankers, politicians, and industry leaders that could learn a thing or 2 from Dave Tally.

I think the fact that this story has made the international media shows us that we're nearly there :(

Good point:frown:

But man, Mr. Talley's a human being I think most of us could never be.

It was irrational, irresponsible, and generally a poor idea for Talley to return the bag; it made no sense for a person in his situation. But fuck, it was just a goddamn nice thing for him to do. For that to be the only thing he was concerned about makes him a better person than I could ever hope to be.

Keep keeping on Dave Talley, you really are the man. :smoker:

poor guy,
those drugs really left his head screwed up...

the only RIGHT thing to have been done with that wad of cash was to have had a bondfire in public,

one bill at a time

so all those fuckers who love being slaves can know what really up
