clear looking slime on roots in DWC

WTF is it? my water temps are 65f. could this be from the botanicare cal-mag i added a few days ago? befour i was only using gh micro and bloom.

i dont see any signs of root rot all the roots are bright white.

Could you post pics? is it effecting your plants health?

First, you probably have a light leak in your rez somewhere. That needs to be fixed first. Empty your rez and wash it as best you can Then Flush it with 10ml of Hydrogen Peroxide to every gallon of water and let the plants set in the water peroxide solution for a couple hours. Run some of the solution through the net that the plant is in too. Empty the rez and add your water/nute solution as usual. But make sure NO light is getting to your nutrient solution.

what worked for me is a 2 part knockout that dizzle started, fast Physan20 dose then a few days later Hydro-Fungicide. In canada get the HF from hydroponics.com. In america, if you dont want US Customs showing you getting hydro products, since we all know who they play golf with, buy it from groovyhydro.com You can get the physan and the HF in a combo pack on there too. Lastly, so that you can use the HF only at a maintenace dose once you knock out the slime, get a UV Sterilizer light for your RO water. Only put UV sterilized RO water in the res from then on, and the HydroFungicide will keep the res sterile from incidentals from the the air, handling, clothes etc.

the slime comes from spores in the water, just RO'ing the water wont get them out.

o yeah this here si the one i got, havent had slime return with maintenance dose of hydrofungicide and UV cleaned RO water with this thing. The bulb life is one year of 'ALWAYS ON', so I unplug mine and only plug it when I am filling the res so it should essentially last forever.
