hi,
i was hoping for a bit of help. Im kinda new to growing, only about 18months. Anyway, here is my dilemma. Went with the family on a camping trip about 6 weeks ago, to help with watering issue(seems i have to water just about everyday) i unplugged one of my 2 600 watt lamps. No biggie right. Anyway, when i arrive back to the site a couple days later i plug the light back in and all is well... Well, fast forward 2 weeks. Im going on another camping trip and i figure i do my little unplug and all is good. But, i notice that the once unplugged ballast i mistakenly plugged into my 18/6 timer instead of my 12/12 timer. Doh, 2 weeks of one of my lights in my flower area was on an additional 6 hrs a day. man, im a douche. So, again fast forward another 3 weeks and as i start getting closer to harvest, yep you guessed it, im seeing seed pods in almost all my buds. I have a few gems that look to be loaded with seeds such as Resevation Labs Northern Dreams IBL, Res seeds 4sd, D420 Purple kush and fuck a beauty of a Sugar Cane Kush. Anyway, they all appear to have seeds. Are these seeds usuable? Are they going to be all fem seeds? sorry if these are dumb questions but ive never done the seed part of it, grown from seed, but never tried to produce seed. can someone please let me know if these are worth saving from the buds or if you have any thoughts on their viability? Thanks for all the thoughts. I know, what a douchebag move

All will be fem seeds. You could keep yourself in fine weed for a long time with those seeds, however be aware that hermie begets hermie...and those all came from hermie. Now, it was a severe stress that brought out the hermie but there is no way of telling if the progeny will be hermie prone or not. You will just have to keep an eye out for hermie on any of the plants grown from those seeds. But then, we need to watch out for hermie in any seeds at all.

If you kept clones of the batch that are seeded, you could grow them out again...give them a bit of light stress to see which ones hermie easy and which don't. Then you could have an indication of which plants may give out the most hermie prone seeds.
All in all it is not a bad thing if you are a private hobby grower and not selling for coin. Let the seeds mature well and you should have lots of fem grow stock. I personally wouldn't be sending any of them into seedbay auction, and I wouldn't pass them out without a full disclosure of what they are and how they came about.
Grow em out and see what you get. Maybe one or two at a time with the rest of your regular grow...just be aware that the hermie gene made them, so it can be there. It is almost always there in the first place, but it often times is dominant...and we prefer recessive when it comes to the intersex gene.

You are going to have both S1 (female plant pollinates herself from her own stamen) and R1 (female plant that was pollinated from a different female's stamen)
