ok so i got an easyryder thats 23 days old, in ff happy frog soil in 2 gal pots. two of her bottom leaves are yellowing and drying up, and on top the leaves look like claws. please help!!! lol. my lights on temps are between 76-83. been watering with distilled water(ph at 6) since it sprouted. i watered today and the ph of the runoff was 5.. (not sure how accurate tho, only have ph strips). but is that to low? she has only received one feeding on 11/10 of 5ml age old organics grow and 5ml molasses in one gallon of water. did i over fertilize like a jackass?

what did i do to her?? and what do i need to do for her??

oh, here is her home..

Hi :)
Your pH is very low. It should be closer to 6.5 and 7. 6.8 being the optimal soil range. Try flushing with regular (un)pH'ed water until the runoff reaches the optimal zone. 3 to 5 times the pot size volume should do it. The buffers in the soil will not allow for the pH to go over so don't worry about using water that hasn't been pH'ed. Good luck and I hope this helps :).

I think happy frog has a lot of good stuff in it so don't worry about feeding until you see a deficiency occurring like nitrogen which will be first. You may just be experiencing a lockout due to a pH imbalance.

Hi Mr_Mota :)
Yes sir :). Just plain tap until you see the pH settle at 6.8 or close to it. Hold off on ANY additives too. Again the Happy Frog mix is really happy :). More happiness may make it sad :).

No Mr_Mota and sorry for the late reply. Just flush and the soil will eventually dry out but you need to bring the root zone to balance.

ok so i flushed last night with 6 gallons of tap water. on the 6th gallon i ph'd the run off and it only moved form 5 to a little over 6. kinda hard to get an exact measurement with my ph strips, gunna try to pick up a ph pen this weekend. this morning when i checked on them the leafs looked like they had perked up a lil, but still kinda claw like. should i buy sum dolomite lime or any other suggestions???

NICE!!! I usually go with the 3 times the pot size. But I usually hit them with water till I get to the right pH. In other words I keep it going till I hit my mark. This is the price to pay for letting it get bad. This is actually really good news Mr_Mota because of this you will ALWAYS be more careful with what you use. :). There are already pH buffers in place so you will not need additional dolomite lime. Just remember to love them enough but don't love them too much :).

The only additive I use is Kool Bloom because the shit WORKS. Other then that I use the absolute minimum in the nutes category. With nutes less is always more.

Anytime bro, yes it's a Zinc def. This is an indication of a nute lockout. Basically your micros are not coming up and it would have been worse if you hadn't flushed. At the pH range you were at which was 5 - you'd of been seeing much worse then a Zinc issue.

They will bounce out of this but you may supplement a foliar spray with micro elements. "In my very humble opinion" I will simply ride it out. You know your pH was low and now you have control of it. Just make sure you don't bombard her with light. Right now she doesn't have it in her to produce chlorophyll till she's back to health. Too much light will further the damage so just make sure the light is far away for a bit.
