Size Pruning/Triming?.

Hi guys!. Im new to ICmag and new to growing.. And I have found the forum and sit very usefull. I run a hydro system w. drippers. week 4 vegative state.

My question is: Is there a way of pruning or triming, to make my plants slim?.. I read in my grow bible if I cut the tips of all the lower branches they will grow higher. But is it the leaf tips or half the branch?

Why? What do you mean "slim"?

You could raise the light a bit, that would make them stretch. Otherwise you can trim or prune the plant to suit yourself.

Just be sure to leave an active, growing tip at the end of every branch, or the plant could die back.

If you want a slim plant you can remove the branches.
If you pluck off a branch from the base it usually won't come back.

There might be secondary growth that you'll need to pluck again.

Thanks guys.. I went with the lollipopping.. By slim I mean slim and high. There arent enough room for the plant to get wide..

You can use one wide plant instead of multiple slim plants too.
If your space is tight I believe watering one plant would be much easier.

If its a small space I don't think there will be much difference in yield. Difference would be the need to LST \ SCROG and the need for some veg time.

don't forget most plants will at least double if not triple in height when you switch to 12/12

Im in a dutch pot system.. So watering is not an issue.. But im with you on the space.. Its because im running my last run with seeds before im upgrading to Aero. And by that time Ill be able produce my clones, and will be able to flower much earlier.

I know you did the 12/12 from seed grow.. Looks really nice.. But I always read that you should wait aprox 4-6 weeks before flowering( when the pre-flowers shows). When growing seeds. So thats what i did.. My hawian snow is crazy big, just started tieing it down. I really like your scrog setup nice mayn..

The plants don't start flowering until 4-6 weeks pass even if you start with 12\12.
They grow slower but heat was a major issue so running the lights more would just delay the growth more, and I'll be heading to a lot of other problems.

You should have seen my Sugar Haze. flowered at a feet height and finished around 8 feet, full of branches. barely any buds, LSTed like hell, crappy smoke.
Her clone was flowered for 3.5 months and never finished.
My Sweet Deep Grapefruit however only gained 50% more height or so, and she got flowered as soon as she could.

Its REALLY strain dependent.

Crazy.. I have the same problem again.. My hawaian snow is way to big for the light around 160 cm.. And also the super lemon haze is the same or higher.. both atleast tripled if not more.. and only ending the third week of flw..

But i have better luck with the skunk # 1.. It is nice low and bushy.. and only take aprox 45 days to flower.. I just started a Sensi skunk mother project, which is half skunk#1..

But yeah it is really strain depending..

Most of the strains i've ran will do this naturally if you flower them 0 veg. They grow into one solid cola with no side branching.
