My first grow. Fake speaker!

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I am starting on my first grow. I built this speaker cabinet made to look 100% legitimate. I even added two little speakers with an audio input to keep the illusion perfect. Inside is an adjustable light rack with two 64w cfls, a 120mm fan for exhaust and a passive intake, all light proofed. Im planning on adding a carbon filter to the exhaust in the future when I start to flower, but ill jump that hurdle when I come to it. Right now I am germinating a bunch of fairly decent looking bag seeds I have so hopefully theyll pop in the next 24-48 hours and be ready for planting. Ive got organic soil and will get some nutes as soon as I can, but I think ill be in the clear for now. Im going to veg for like a week or two just to get some growth before I start to flower, where I will use lst ties and a scrog to hopefully maximize my yeild. Tell me what you guys think!

nice job, I love speaker grows. You getting enough airflow in there? I don't see any vents.

We really need a speakerbox growclub thread or something.

Thanks stealth, so far im lovin my box and yeah its gettinf a ton of airflow, its just hard to see due to the curtain and the light traps, but ive got a 120mm exhaust fan and a passive intake

The seeds popped and are now in the cab under the lights. Im so excited to see them start to grow! Ive got 15 seeds in soil, but I plan on chopping all but the strongest 5 or 6 females of the bunch and training them with a scrog

I checked today to see that two of the seeds have popped out of the soil and are starting to shed their seed casing. I cant wait to see these girls start to grow

do you guys think two 80mm computer fans each pumping about 30 cfm would be enough to pump through a carbon filter? I would have it set up like this:

I like the sneaky grows, good luck. Have you thought of reflectors for lights? I measured my 2 cfl's in y splitter with and without clamp reflector and with it was roughly 2x the lux.

Reflectors trap heat a bit so that is a drawback. In the y split arrangement the two lights light streams overlap each other and you get more penetration from combined light that way. Yours appear to overlap as you have them now.

my grow space is about 19x15x13 inches and im running two 64w cfls. where can i get clamp reflectors for the lights? heat might be an issue tho...

I think I came up with a carbon scrubber that will work, it uses one fan to pull air into a duct, through activated carbon, and out of the bottom of my box. I will also have an intake fan blowing in and a fan above the lights to keep them cool (Ive got two fans connected so why not)

At any hardware store. With your small space, you could just get some thin aluminum sheets and cut and bend up a couple or beercan cut open and fit to lights. If you had 27 watt cfl's like I do, you can just fit beer can as is, after cutting off one end and cutting about half of it off lengthwise.

i now have another healthy looking seedling! i checked my plants in the morning and there was no new notable growth, but when i came home a seedling had broken the surface and shed its casing already! i think one of my seedlings might die though because the leaves are shriveled and tiny and it keeps looking worse and worse :frown:

Ill try to have pics up soon, i need to find my camera

well i checked up on my plants today and the two health seedlings are growing ALOT and i have another popping out of the soil :D

I think the other one is a goner for sure though, its looking even worse today

I would just go straight 12/12 in that small of a space. I am growing 4 widowrellas right now that are 12/12 from seed and are looking pretty damn good. If you top them at the 3rd node it will focus on branching before it flowers and actually gives you about a week of veg time. I will post a pic in here if you want, so you can see them from 12/12 from seed. I did it due to needing some meds like fast not because of size restraints tho. But still, it worked great but it did keep them smaller then I was hoping so it should be perfect in a small space like that.

Thanks for the tip! I think im going to just let them go on on the 17/7 ive had them on for the next week and then transplant all the popped plants and discard the rest and switch up my lighting and add my carbon filter. what kind of yield did you get from straight 12/12?

Here are some pics from about a week ago. The bottom two were started a week after the ones on the top and also topped. They have all been on 12/12 their whole life.

The bottom ones will definitely yield alot better just because I topped them and stopped them from going into flower and they focused more energy on branching out.

Im trying to upload some from today but my upload speed sucks on the borrowed internet I use to surf the site. The bottom ones have almost doubled from then to today. So if I ever do 12/12 from seed again I will definitely top every single one.
