$60 a GRAM in Denver: caviar?

I wonder if u can make some kind of oil out of one of the JWH's. If so I'm sure somebody is doing this, and representing it as legit gear.
From a dishonest operator's perspective this would make much more sense than wasting good oil on crappy bud, and people who aren't wise enough to know the difference.

What I don't get is how they so easily "soak" these buds in oil, since any oil with a purge worth consuming will need to be heated to liquefy it (even then, it should be thick and goopy unless heated too high, degrading THC). Otherwise, you're likely dealing with an oil that has lots of trapped solvents to get the "soak" effect.

To me it seems like a bullshit gimmick used to fool fools. Maybe I'm wrong.

I recall several clubs in the LA area selling horrible quality "oil" or "budder", peanut butter consistency @ room temperature, LOTS of trapped solvents, flares up into a blaze when heated with a flame. I also recall reading plenty of high ratings / reviews on that very batch (and many previous/future ones just like it) on these forums, from ignorant people talking about how tasty or great it was, I think using some terms like "dancing" or "sizzling" on his Ti skillet/pad. Uggggh or LOL, I'm not sure, maybe both. Certainly not an isolated incident, as I'm sure this kind of shit is available everywhere, every day.

Sounds delicious!
Not to me.

I make tons of ISO/acetone oil and think this is a decent idea, the oil could be thinned with solvent but the buds would need to be dried again to make sure no solvent remains. Seems like a messy process to me.

oh gotta go wash my kitchen counter with alcohol again, damn oils....

I have a bunch of JWH in my house too, and I will tell you that my oil alone is a 2 hitter quitter. mixing in JWH would be devastating. I would pity anyone who took more than a hit or two of that combo, they would be uncomfortably high.

it seemed like oil/goo was heated to a temp about what it was to purge but i didnt get into specifics. Dude did tell me he used a 5x filtered butane and triple evaporated the honey before it was ready to dunk. From the final product i dont think there was any loss of potecy or thc... And the oil was gold and smooth as honey. The strongest stuff ive smoked save for straight oil/goo

.

Definately not a gimmick when executed properly. A gram of honey buds will last as long as an 1/8 of buds... Maybe longer even if you only smoke via pipe or bong. A match head sized piece will give up 3-5 hits...

Your tolerance for buds will skyrocket though... SKYROCKET. Haha
Thats a drawback for sure....

shit now this has me thinking, it's is a perfect way to sneak an oil toke on the lift without having to carry a seperate jar, and no worries about spilling :D

dude, exactly.
SUPER EXPANDO!!!

but its got to be done right...
like monkeysee mentioned there are some bad batches being sold. i think making oil is an art form in and of itself, sorta like growing. sure, anyone can do it with a few supplies, but some just do it better than others.

If you have to worry about "spilling" your oil, chances are your oil sucks and needs much much more purging. I know that not all combos or profiles of resin/THC/CBD/terps form "shatter", but I also know that it shouldn't run / spill in room temperature, or anywhere close to it.

The oil has to be heated slightly before applying to the flowers and then allowed to dry.

If you pour oil/solvents onto the flowers, I'm guessing you will run the risk of leaving solvent in the final product as well as strip the oils from the buds.

Who said anything about spilling? Oil can be a pain in the ass to handle....

Strongly agree.

I'm mostly stuck on this term "soak", not... say, "coat". DUCY?

Oiled bud is a pain to handle, store, and use. When I first made this over 30 years ago, it was always a way to use excess, shake, or inferior bud, and results vary widely. It can seriously kick ass when made with good stuff.

This century I learned to make glitter bud, but it is just a confection, and a bit tricky to get right.

a few years ago a buddy of mine was moving lbs of honey buds (hippy crack) to clubs in the bay area at 10k per... all nicely prepackaged in little 1g containers.

the G's were then sold at a retail cost of 60-80...

lot of work weighing & packing that stuff up....

yup nothing new...had honey bud years ago from the SF clubs...it was 50 a gram. shit was definately some one hitter quitter..although we would just smoke the whole thing lol. the coolest part about honey bud is how it KEEPS BURNING!! we packed a bowl in the bong, and one bowl went around like 5 times, no need to relight, its a nice little burning ember that burns slowly and creates some heavy smoke!

50 a gram aint that expensive...the cheapest oil you can get at the club is 20-30 a gram. combine that with a 20 dollar gram and boom you get 50 a pop.

i dont feel a need to get that baked though. i smoked some outdoor kushes today that are dirt cheap (160 oz) but still got me high off my ass off two hits.

60 is nothing ppl pay 100 a gram for high quality oil in some places

but id say 50-65ish is the norm for a gram of good oil, in a dispensary at least

Perfectly named.

Caviar is right.

That shit may taste like heaven and be worth what people will pay for it.

I'm not going to find out.

Sewer rat might taste like pumpkin pie.....

Was waiting for someone to say that. Half the people I know who start on oil end up having to continue using it. If you are a heavy smoker and do oil for a week and then try going back to normal buds, your not gonna be happy. I know people who started with oil and haven't stopped yet lol. Thankfully they grow so they aren't going poor but still.

Word to the wise lol.

I don't know about HS's oil, per se, but most of their "full melt bubble" @ $30-$35 is garbage that's half-melt at best. Most likely some 45u bag.

So based on that, I'm very wary of the $20 oil being anything worth mentioning.

What was the consistency & color of the ISO?

I make this all the time. Definitely not a waste or gimmick. The buds do last allot longer for sure. I make it on the spot put my bud in the bong/pipe add some drops of oil(BHO) on top and im done for the day:)
