Oil buds

drool-for-sale.jpg

Maybe a tad overpriced, but it definitely is one hitter quitter. I've only had oil soaked buds once and I was rocked by them...

1400/oz!!!!!!!!!!!???
I need to start makin this shit...

I could easily get rid of that for 14K/lb (875/oz) and just let my boy bang out ounces for an insane profit margin...

I smoke a lot of oil soaked buds. Nothing like that first hit of the morning when you forget what you packed in da bowl the night before.

Just like buttered popcorn at the movie theater. Extra butter, please.....

quote from the linked article: ....Jake, although he adds a word of caution about taste: "It's rough."

People looking for a smooth-tasting product should look elsewhere, he says. "It's for people who want to smoke less, need longer effects, or have medical needs that absolutely require them to take large amounts of THC in. It's going to have a stronger medical benefit.".....

THe only reason for a rough smoke here, imo, would be using inferior flowers and/or low-grade oil. No friend I've ever turned on to oiled buds has mentioned anything about a "rough" smoke. Maybe a rough ride, but that's another story.

Not to say its all like this, but a friend came across some "CO mmj" awhile back that wouldn't have even had made my hash bin. It appeared to be a sativa dom strain pulled at about week 4 of flower.

a few years ago a buddy of mine was moving lbs of honey buds (hippy crack) to clubs in the bay area at 10k per... all nicely prepackaged in little 1g containers.

the G's were then sold at a retail cost of 60-80...

lot of work weighing & packing that stuff up....

Okay... but why bother with the bud. Why not just smoke the oil?

It seems to me that you are taking hash oil and adulterating it with bud. The whole point of oil is to do away with the bud and take it down to it's essence. Or am I missing something.

this is how dispensaries are dealing with their mass produced warehouse herb, soak it in mystery oil to mask the pesticides in the flavorless unflushed uncured herb

nothing new i've seen pounds of this shit over the years, usually outdoor though

i've smoked it, and it sucks, bad...

if you can find proper clean oil for $60 a gram, it's a no brainer

true, but think about how much oil it takes to coat a pound of bud

i would be interested in the oil/bud ratio

This is just a retarded gimmick. Why not just smoke the concentrate by itself. my guess is equal weight of the concentrate by itself would be stronger, I would think the bud would just water it down.

^Im with Rooted, this is just another way for them to sell you mystery crap. The government sees shit like this and probly gets a hard-on, this is like the crack of weed.

have you ever tried to smoke oil? much less weigh it out for retail consumption - its a pain in the ass...

they used whole buds to make the oil. A LOT OF BUDS yeah it was outdoor, but once its oil/goo it doesnt matter what it used to be.

coating the buds makes it easier to smoke you just break off a little match head sized piece and rip it slowly.

Any idea as to the process of soaking the buds and drying them? I'm assuming the oil is made from trim/OD? Thanks :tiphat:

the consistency of the oil depends heavily on the method used and the care and time taken to evaporate the solvent

my oil is crumbly amber and super easy to shake on top of a bowl, it adds soaring clarity to a soothing indica stone

when i think about it, my oil melts down into the bud instantly anyways, so i'm essentially smoking the same thing :joint:

i agree that black gooey oil is very much a pain in the ass to handle :D

im assuming it's a low temp bath to keep the oil thin, the meltier the oil is when they soak the buds the better it will be able to work itself into the cracks.....just a guess

im not entirely sure how he dried them out but i did see a pyrex cake dish sitting on a hot plate (electric burner) w 2" deep of oil/goo... crazy dude took a bud dipped it in swirled it around held it up smiled like a crazy scientist and put it on some wax paper on a cookie sheet then we smoked a 5ft bong of pure oil i dont remember much else sorry hahaha

The guy has more hash and dry sift his shop then weed. The buds are all machine trimmed and then the tricombs beat off... It tastes like he takes crappy weed and dips it in thinned out oil I have smoked it, and it was underwhelming! He has a $$$ location and it was reflected in his prices... We traded some weed and I ended up giving his away to a friend of mine who is a fanboy of his... It's a gimmick IMHO
