hello all! been cruising the forums here for quite some time now without posting, soaking up a wealth of knowledge and troubleshooting problems in my last three grows via the search function. i have decided it is time for me to contribute and i have just germinated 2 seeds a friend gifted to me (he received via bag of herbs), and 2 seeds from one of my previous grows (also from a bag of local herb). this cab is new to me, my previous grows were in a larger space with much better ventilation but due to certain events i have decided to downsize. this cab is 2 feet wide, 1 foot deep and 5 1/2 feet tall. the flower chamber is powered by a 150 watt sun system hps which i plan on remotely wiring the ballast outside of the cabinet in the very near future. the veg chamber is powered by 2 42 watt compact fluorescents. i currently do not have an exhaust fan in the veg chamber but that will change soon. i plan on growing a mother plant of each strain and taking clones every week for a "perpetual sea of green".
here are some photos to kick things off, enjoy, and feel free to comment and criticize!

Darryl....nice job!

Where did you get that cab? Is it closetmaid brand?

I kinda want to built one from MDF or plywood, but I can't make up my mind. The cab at HD looks likes yours. They want 95.00 greenbacks for it. Plus I need a jigsaw.

Again, great job, and nice cab.

Love the nugs all the way to the bottom. Where are you gonna keep your mothers at? Does that mylar do anything to your temps?
Thanks man keep it up

hi growbox! im not to sure if the mylar affects temps it has been in there since conception i recently added an exhaust fan to my veg room and temps are currently 79 on avg. i plan on keeping my mothers in the veg/clone chamber via lst and pruning/topping.
thanks for stopping by!

Hey man, great cab you got going on. Keep an eye on temps with that 150w, they can get deceptively high. I look forward to watching you keep some small moms, I am working on a smaller mother/clone chamber myself at the moment.
Good luck with the grow.

hey all back with an update, its been about 9 days since i took some photographs so i thought today would be the day. i did some upgrading to the veg chamber as its the only thing running right now. i have a 4 inch pc fan exhausting the chamber. i have 15 1inch holes in the lower back panel for intake, and i put a 6 inch oscillating fan rain in there too but it has no shroud so well see how that goes. it also has three speeds and is relatively quiet on low and moves enough air. i gothe temps steady at with 2 42 watt 6500k cfl bulbs so not to bad. the flower chamber is undergoing some renovation/upgrades soon to come. the plants are 10 and 12 days from breaking soil and i hope to get a mom out of them because i have no more seeds and i liked the nugs i got from this past grow. gonna get some genetics soon i hope but only time will tell. well here are some photo updates as of today! feel free to ask questions or criticize or comment whatever floats your boat!!!!!

cheers!

soo seems no love my way! I have made some adjustments and upgrades. more intake holes, 2 exhaust fans in the flower chamber, remotely ballasted light, oh and i topped the fastest growing plant a day or two back. well im doing temp runs now and trying to find the sweet spot. any ideas or opinions are welcome and appreciated!
photos!
i mounted the ballast right on top of the cabinet.

remote ballast getting lots of air and out of the box!
]

2 new pc fans no idea the cfm but seem to keep temps below 82 so go so far.
havent thought about the light and a fixture yet/ reflector

bubbling my h20 and an 1/8th dose of flora
removing the ballast i think is going to make a major diference. i dont know what to do for a reflector though!!
not a whole lot of feedback in here but i am sure once there are some flowers in bloom we will see more words!!

open to any tips or ideas you can see that would help. as you can see im also on a tight budget!
I have a fisheye lens for my camera also so later ill grab some flicks with a twist!
Ciao!!
