Thansplanting with GeorgeSmiley

Okay, haven't really seen this talked about much. But I have a basement grow room. I have to mix soil out door and then bring it down. So transplanting has to take place down there and it makes a mess. I cant bring the plants up to the back yard for security reasons.

So the happy medium is potting the containers up outside, cayying them down full and plopping the existing plant in and you're done.

Here's what I do.

I take a pot the same size as the one the plant is currently in. (3 gallon) I fill this with my soil.

I then put soil in the bottom of the larger pot (10 gallon) and place the smaller pot inside when it's at the correct height.

Then I fill in around the pot. I pour dirt on top of the smaller pot and it cascades off in all directions setting fairly even
.

Press it down and smooth it out

Then twist gently till the inner pot lets loose and pull it out of there.

Now the pots are ready to be wiped clean and carried down to the grow room.

So that's just the way I do consistent transplants without exposing plants outside and keeps me from moving much dirt in the growroom. It's takes such little time to actually do this that it just saves a lot of hassle.

Great idea George. Especially for me. I grow in the basement and I'm messy with the dirt. Constantly sweeping. Thanks for taking the time to document your method.

These pictures prove that I am in fact not a black man......... and I have pretty nice calves.

Off to raise hell in the city. Have some other transplanting stuff to follow whenever my hangover ends tomorrow.

Cheers

That's exactly how I've been doing it lately, and for much the same reason. My wife thought I was nuts until she witnessed the smooth transition, and decided shortly thereafter to transplant a bunch of houseplants that she'd been procrastinating on, haha.

Thanks for the thread!
