Well I made mine myself. 5 gallon black buckets and lids ebay. Got a 24mm starret cutter, cut some holes and got some 19mm barbed elbows with grommets. Got some clear tubing from the local tropical fish shop.

Then I discovered hempy buckets with coco and threw them away.

haha... nice alien...

yeah not sure how those people that use dwc with a top drip ring circulation would continue to do so if simply getting hydroton wet caused root rot. oh well.

While top feeding for the first week how often should I water? The same as if it were soil? Because it seems as If the lower hydroton is staying quite most from the air bubbles popping, the spray is even reaching the bottom of my lid

I run a 1/2 in. top feed 24/7 through hydroton , bottom tank is 27 gal dwc, no airpumps. Roots are even growing into the air above the hydroton.

I'm not really looking to run top feed lines, just to get everything established how much watering is necessary

Just letting you know that you cant over water in hydroton. Clones started in rockwool can pose a challenge though.

Im not a big lover of anything organic in with hydroton & DWC, suitable or not i wouldnt use SuperPlugs personally. They do contain beneficial fungi's etc but imo a potential problem, there made from composted tree bark, dont like the sound of those personally. 1"RockWool propagation cubes & hydroton is all thats needed for a successfull DWC grow, start adding organics & problems can arise, im not saying anything bad's gonna happen with you(god forbid) but you may wanna innoculate with beneficial bacteria & trichcoderma, mycorrizae etc, if not keep a bottle of H2o2 on hand & periodically sterilise your media & res, h2o2 is a great booster anyway.
Just one top feed irrigation daily is usually sufficient, depends on your light output really, as long as it can freely drain 2 irrigations wouldnt hurt, one should be just fine though. Once roots are established in your res solution, top-feed irrigations aint required.

I use via oxy with every res change, and vegging under 400mh, flower under 2 600hps

For now I've just been watering by hand through hydroton not through the plug about 3 to 4 times daily. Everything seems fine so far, but then again its only been transplanted since 11/6
