What brought you to International Cannagraphic?

I had a college buddy smoke me out with some blueberry and northern lights that was fresh from his friend "back home".

Yeaaaa right....

I believed it at the time though.

Later on he was to tell me about a cool website he knew about. I think the only reason he told me is because he knew I was a stoner, at heart, if you will.

I owe a lot to him.

A google search for "DIY carbon scrubber" lead me here to ICMag just over 2 years ago and have never left. Definitely the #1 web site for information, photo galleries of dank and helpful like minded people. I have made lots of really good friends on here and am extremely grateful for Gypsy and his hardworking crew who provide us with ICMag and SeedBoutique and SeedBay, they are #1 in my books :good:

I came here a year after OG crashed. Back in the day OG was virtually the only game in town.

The Og growfaq quickly became a thing of reverence to virtually any amateur pot grower. Also it had so many grow diaries as well as giving the general feeling that you weren't alone out there. It gave thousands of growers who would never meet in person the chance to anonymously talk to one another and share techniques and ideas.

OG did so much for me in regards to taking information I had accumulated, and sorting fact from fiction, and myth from reality. When it crashed I felt it necessary to recreate some of that atmosphere here for the newcomers to our culture. Back in the day OG was basically the only game in town, and I felt like the powers that be had dealt an incredible blow to the grow community by shutting down the free flow of knowledge.

In all honesty, to this day I credit OG being second only behind the events of 911, as being the cause of our current domestic sensimilla boom. There is no better time in history to be a toker than now. I honestly believe that.

By the time I came to IC, I had already quit growing because of things that happened during hurricane Katrina. I intended to build up the Revival of the Ultimate Sativa Thread, (coming up on a million views now!) so that new growers and smokers could have the daunting amount of information out there put into an easily accessed and understandable framework, but then I was going to leave. At the time I wasn't really impressed with IC, but it seemed the only place around. Since then IC has exploded and is easily the best pot related website out there, with the largest, most mature, and knowledgeable members around the internet bar none. I hang around now despite not being a grower anymore just to have the privilege to talk to such a diverse group. I've made friends from all over the world, in Spain, Australia, A'dam, Cali, etc. It's really great.

I sometimes visit grass city but honestly its just for fun. You'd think the toker culture was about 17 year olds smoking blunts in parking lots by visiting the other websites out there. They literally have "stickies" about how to not get caught smoking in your room by your mom. Their top grow mentors say you can get purple weed by flushing with grape juice. By comparison the competition is literally a joke. For intelligent, mature conversation about grass IC is the only game in town IMHO.

Never forget OG, but long live IC.

Thank you motaco for the growing guide you did to the RUST thread. It def. has saved my ass with the haze and Swazi's I'm growing.
Oh yea.....came across the site via google, saw that folks on here seemed to know what they were doing and decided to stay around and gain some knowledge on how to grow and share my experiences of smoking back in the day's of the '70's.
Only problem is visiting IC is more of an addiction than smoking....:wave:

I came for the great political and religious conversation...

But seriously, on all the other sites you have to find your way through piles of rubbish to get to decent information. They're more sites where people who like weed can pretend they have something in common while they mentally vomit back and forth. IC is the site where attention is on growing, learning and advocating. The stricter controls on content here which are sometimes a bummer make for a better community in the end. Very little noise and lots of signal.

Also, people here appreciate the international nature of the cannabis community a lot more. Yeah the US is important, but there are folks doing the good work in a lot of other countries, and it seems like that is accepted well here.

Oh, and its my one year anniversary, so happy anniversary to me.

Without good mods/admins ICM would be a junk site full of crap
.....and we have managed to keep a good rep with most all of the community because of good modding...sometimes this has led to fervent discussion and accusations that we are inhibiting 'free speech'......but it has to be done to maintain the common good for the majority of members....

No one wants to read stuff that is either too crude or too inflammatory and just shows members at each others throats all of the time....do they?...(well maybe a small minority do)....ICM tries to cater for the majority of members that would rather see good solid threads free from the 'chaff' and 'piffle' that you see so much of on other sites....

Modding can be a thankless task, like breaking up fights on the school playground all of the time, when both people want to fight and they both blame the teacher for stopping them....

So many thanks to all the current and past ICM Mods/Admins who strive daily to keep this site free of spam, trolling and flaming.....and focused on cannabis as much as they can.....

After a renewal of a long lost interest in marijuana cultivation, I Searched the web for sites. I found many and still access a lot of them. I feel IC is the best site for all around information and entertainment directed toward marijuana culture. IC is populated by a vast number of very knowledgable people who speak from experience and maturity. IC helps me a lot.
