TOR anonymity and IP bans

hey folks,

i just wanted to remind that many users here are using TOR software to protect their anonymity ..

it has happened a few times now, that TOR network IP's have been banned here at icmag .. and legitimate TOR users are also hindered from loading threads then .. (sure you can always hop to another TOR node, but it sucks to load a few threads only to find your IP has been banned )

could you please ban/delete user accounts instead ?

We don't ban by Ip...we ban by user name

the only IP bans in place on IC mag are from known spam sites
we do not block TOR or other proxy's

I've seen more IP bans this week over TOR than is normal. Over the past year or so it's happened quite rarely. 1-2 years ago IP bans came up for me much more frequently.

So I guess TOR is circulating a few known bad IPs as exit nodes this week.

I got the same answer oldpink says above 1-2 years ago when I asked about this.

it happened to me also quite often this week, but ill just hop to the next TOR node when it happens again
