Is the money made from weed better in the hands of the government or in the hands of the people? Personally I hate paying tax, especially when I see the billions wasted by my government. And we are taxed on almost everything...

it would created over a dozen new laws FOR ALL AGES with STRICTER penalties than anything we have had in California, while only repealing 8 laws for those 21 and Over. Would of created a total of 4 new laws, thats including what it would have "legalized"

mr noodles still can't explain why this is terrible for MMJ so i figure he's pulling that one out of his...where the sun dont shine....

First you say:

You know what I've got? oh yup you guessed it "I got mine" Ever heard of "Personal/Family well-being over everything?"
You really don't understand what 19 would of done to MMJ patients rights.

Then when you are asked to explain how this passing would have had an effect on MMJ patients you post:

it would created over a dozen new laws FOR ALL AGES with STRICTER penalties than anything we have had in California, while only repealing 8 laws for those 21 and Over. Would of created a total of 4 new laws, thats including what it would have "legalized"

Can you please post something that illustrates how the passing of Prop 19 would have impacted MMJ patients negatively? Like a link or something? Or quote the prop that illustrates this impact to MMJ patients?

You can run on for a long time, run on for a long time but sooner or later gods cut you down.

In a way Im sad this failed but at the same time Im happy because I dont believe those pigs should put more hooves in to the cookie jar. Just give us permission as adults to use a PLANT without taxing the fuck out of us.

I feel sorry for anyone that would willingly bring more taxes upon themselves. Seriously people, how whipped have we become. Please big brother government, please let me have some candy, you can have some candy but if you want it it comes with a hefty tax, this is absurd.

Think tea party, the real one not this phony ass sarah palin bullshit, and be grateful for what you got, med laws and decrim, yall are sitting pretty and at the end of the day you still have it WAY better then some peeps in other states and many other countries.

I have to admit, at times today, I've felt the same way towards Californians who voted No on 19, (especially icmag.com members, I'm still bewildered by their decision and astonished at the number of them!)......but mostly I feel disappointed, a real buzz-kill, a win in Cali would been the impetus for other states and then other countries to end their war on cannabis. ..and now where are we? I guess many of them didn't really appreciate just how momentous this would be been if it passed and just how world shattering it would of been.

This "greedy" personal grower (who voted NO) will continue to plant and grow and share with his friends and loved ones.

Too many so-called 'peaceful' people getting obnoxious today. Heated issue, but I don't see how any of us 'lost' here.

I see people with posts such as 'B.C. thanks you!", and then in the same breath, we're called greedy Californians... guess what? Either side was going to be pissed with the outcome. If you all feel as strong as you claim about this 'taxation and regulation' then keep fighting - calling everyone who voted NO greedy, just sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me!

Here's what Gil Kerlikowske had to say about it, and what he'll have to say about it for the next two years.

“Today, Californians recognized that legalizing marijuana will not make our citizens healthier, solve California’s budget crisis, or reduce drug related violence in Mexico. The Obama administration has been clear in its opposition to marijuana legalization because research shows that marijuana use is associated with voluntary treatment admissions for addiction, fatal drugged driving accidents, mental illness and emergency room admissions.”

If the Federal Government is still continuing to arrest/prosecute MMJ patients/growers in strict compliance with state law, why on earth would they not bust anybody smoking for recreation under 19, even after the announced they would pursue if it passed back in mid October.

There's one I got plenty more

Can you please explain your reasoning behind voting no?

I don't understand how a person in your shoes based on what you have explained you already do, why they would NOT want prop 19 to pass, or better can you please explain how the passing of this prop, would have negatively impacted YOU, given YOUR situation as you have described it?

Thanks

Ok... So if you had to pay the government $30 in tax for every 7 grams that you grow, how would you feel about that? Then ontop of that theres the electricity prices, cost of seeds and cost of fertilizers etc.. Wouldnt be worth growing really would it? Might be cheaper to buy your medicine from dealers no?

The 'no' voters on here arent against growing and posessing it, i think its mostly that they dont want to pay tax on their weed.

Peace,

If people voted NO on prop 19 because of the tax issue related to having to pay taxes on what YOU grow which how would that be enforced??

Have the states figured away to get tax revenue out of people on simple goods purchased out of state that I was unaware of? If not, I would think it would be very similar..

That reason just seems very silly, when the passing of it would have so many other positive results, and NOT just for California.

Prop 19 passes, negative effects on me personally = none, at least financially. I don't rely on income from my grow, and tbh, I couldn't sell shit to a fly if I decided to try.

I feel MMJ is too confusing as is, too many gray areas, and not enough is figured out with it yet.

I feel the GOVT loves to lie, put money in the pockets of themselves and corporate interests, and the overall blatant and obvious misuse of funds that our state has been already exhibited. No way I ever believed that prop 19 would fix our budget crisis, we'd be giving more tax dollars to the people who have misused it in the first place. Anyone with a decent job in this state only has to look at their paystub, see what's taken from them, and then look at the roads they have to drive on, the low quality of schools, teachers, police officers etc. What was the deficit a few months back? What is it now? My taxes haven't lowered, and my quality of life in this state has only taken a fall for the worse.

So many more issues face us that need to be resolved before I can ever see myself trusting this government anytime they want more 'taxation and regulation.'

Prop 215 passed my family and I were ecstatic. Whether it was the intention or spirit of the bill or not, we finally thought we had an outlet to safely purchase our meds. Turns out those same clubs drove us to having to grow our own, form our own circles of trustworthy 'partners' to trade clones and bags of stash with. Things have only become worse with time.

I can go into it all day about my reasoning, but I've got to get to work. I feel the pain many feel, but they can't honestly put themselves in our shoes at this point.
