Yesterday I blended my trimmings from my last grow using water and ice. I passed everything through coffee filters and the result is 15 Litres of this:

How could I extract the resin in a cheap and easy way? It's the first time I do this I don't have much knowledge on this matter.

Thx for all help you people can provide me.

Dude, the coffee filters are used to catch the hash after you take the plant matter out with a bigger filter or strainer.

If you passed all your mix through them then that water is useless.

It has nothing left in it.


I hope you didnt throw away everything that the coffee filters caught because that is where your hash is.

To seperate the hash from the plant matter, You have to mix the trimmings with your water and then filter away all the plant matter with a large strainer.

Then you filter that water through the coffee filters to catch the hash. The water that passes through the coffee filters is then dumped down the drain.

Still you fked up this time for sure but go look up Gumby hash anyway, its OK if you use exellent trim, dont bother with crap trim using the Gumby method. Personally i like the 73micron bubble bag(3 bag set is cheap), i prefer graded trichs which you dont get with the Gumby method & there are grades to consider, but Gumby works great with top notch bud & trim yeah!

SHIT!!!!!! bt I saw a thread here from a guy using a jar, filter and then the filtered water he put it on a heater and the water evaporates!!! I still have the filters!!!

He is using a Solvent there to dissolve the hash into the liquid.

That is why its passing through the coffee filters.

But your just using water and ice. Your resin heads are not dissolving. Water is not a Solvent for the Heads.

Instead they are broken off the plant matter by agitation and they float in your water as little 25u micron to 120u micron balls.

You need to use a mesh type strainer to remove the plant matter trim from the liquid and then re-filter that water to catch the small resin heads in coffee filters and reclaim your hash.


I used to make hash with water, ice and coffee filters before I got my first bubble bag set.

How well did you filter it in the first place ?

If you see a layer of deposits on the bottom of your jugs you may have some hash left.

Pour away the water on top and collect all together what has settled.

The stone always sinks in water.

Could I put the filters in alcohol so the resin dissolves, filter the water again and then heat it? The filters really smell like hash.

The filters have hash stuck on them for sure.

You could wash them with alcohol solvent in a separate dish and let that evaporate for some Oil.

Did you use a single paper coffee filter or did you double up on them ?

And do you still have the trimmings ?

And no, you dont heat the water when your making water hash, that is for making hash with solvents. Solvents evaporate at a much lower temp.

ok so I think I have still a way to correct the mistake because I have the hash on the filters and on the containers so please help me out with this

I'll take the top water from the containers and colect what's left and there's big deposit of matter on the bottom of the containers.

Then I'll grab all the filters I've used and the the collected stuff from the containers and sink everything in alcohol.

Mix everything pretty well and then filter again in coffe filters so the green matter gets separated from the dissolved resin

the heat up all stuff?

What you think guys?

I didn't throw way nothing cam this be a way ?

That will work.

You want to remove as much water from the sunken and collected hash as you can. So after you pour out the water on top and collect it together. Let it settle again in a small glass. Then pour off the top water again. Then you can mix that in with your alcohol after you wash the filters in the Alcohol.

Then you can start heating the alcohol slowly to evaporate.

The Pharmacy stuff is around 70% solvent the rest water.

Higher quality ISO will be around 90% solvent the rest water.


The cheap stuff will work fine for what your doing here. It just takes longer to evaporate.

BE CAREFUL with the ISO... it and the fumes are highly flammable. Should do outside or with very very good ventilation.
