Rewiring 110v ballast to 220v?

I have a 1000w SS-10 ballast with a 110v cord that is directly wired. My other ballasts have the slide on the front to switch between 110 and 240. Can I just get a 220v cord and rewire it to be 220? If so, could someone help me out and either tell me how or give me a link. Its gotta be simple, but I want can't find any info on the subject. Any help is greatly appreciated!

1 un plug ballast
2 open ballast box
3 look at schematic on transformer
4 see if it lists 240v input
5 if it lists 240v in connect with hi temp marrettes (black) and install a 240v 15A plug
6 reassemble
7 plug and grow

Yup, its pretty easy too, there will be one color coded wire that that say "240v" move your hot wire to there and put a wire nut on the wire that said 110v.
