HI. This is actually my first grow.

This setup is one ghetto ass setup since my 105w cfl busted just when I had germed the seeds. grrrrrr.

2x 20w 2700k cfl.

I'm kinda in a hurry here so:

Some more info:

Still going with water.

All three fans are hooked to 5.4v nokia phone chargers. 12v made waaaaaaay too mutch noice, even with fans that promised to be under 17db.

There is a homemade active carbon filter.

I hope that the temperature isn't going to be a problem.

Some more info:

The fans are 8cm models.
I planted the seeds, after germing, into potting soil with basically no nutes in it. Just gave them a tiny tiny tiny dose of bio-grow.


Oh. they allready smell kinda funky. At least if you brush the leaf a bit. Kinda fruity smell.

Check out the first picture ! Are those tiny spots trichomes ??

Personally I wouldn't want to go below about 70w of CFL for flowering but if they're doing well grow on!

Trichomes won't appear until flowering starts - i.e. after the white hair-like pistils start to emerge. In your picture those are just hairs which protect the young plant.

Personally I wouldn't want to go below about 70w of CFL for flowering but if they're doing well grow on!

I know 40w of CFL light isn't much. If I fail mizerably this journal can serve as a warning for others

Nice micro grow
Im not Pro yet but in my opinion putting all loaders and other things inside of micro box is wast of room .You use 1 loaders for 1 pc fan? isnt is easer toconnect 2 pc fans to one loader?

40 watt will do the job for your plant! I myself got 135watt cfl for 5plants and a much bigger space! And damn they are growing!

hey captain, will be interested to see how 40w treats you. No doubt veg will be smooth, but I've read over and over that people definitely dont reccomend going below 70w for flowering with CFLs.

HOWEVER-if it works well for you, more power to ya, and good to know!

Sad news.

Temps were way to high + overwatering = moldy soil and stunted growth.

I ended up having only one plant. It turned out male

I got myself a nice big pc case that I'll be using from now on.
