Hey All,

Just received this email from a collective today, thought I'd share to get the communities input. Sounds to good to be true, but I did email them to ask to see SAID lab reports. What are your thoughts?

"CANNABIS COLECTIVE is happy to present a really great hash oil. this oil is lab tested to contain 52.3% thc,1.95%cbd ,3.13% cbn. this is a solvent free oil.... that is it contains no butane. it is extracted from the plant using liquid nitrogen and sound waves. it is the first oil ever usind this patented process. having no butane in it removes many of the health risks involved in using hash oil. .this also leaves the plant terpenes intact. resulting in a truly superior oil. the required donation is $40 per gram. the donation for 10 grams is $300, thats $30 per gram."

%'s sound about possible and the price is good.

But these parts sound waves (really?)and having no butane in it (isnt this obv?)

Actually kinda makes since though. Freeze the trichs and use sound waves (bass) to break them off and fall thru a screen.

Liquid Nitrogen though, not sure how you get a license for that, and I wouldn't think it would be cost effective.

If it's all true God bless him for making the leap. IF he sends the lab results I will post them here. Not holding my breath.

So what is the patent or patent application number?

Ultrasonic-assisted extraction is a hotish newish thing in extraction, but challenge them to produce any link to anywhere on the internet where nitrogen is a solvent for anything but other gases. Let alone a high boiling organic. Anything at all that suggests that it is possible.

Can a sonicating wand (electric toothbrushes are in some real labs) even survive liquid nitrogen? Look up catalog prices for sonicators - even the wands are pretty steep. Any of them spec'd for LN2 service?

It sounds more likely that for now, everyone who sells oil and says it was made from CO2 (this would not reach the public) or any other inorganic solvent is bullshitting you every time.

I think liquid nitrogen is actually very cheap....I could be way off but I thought I remember seeing some comparisons or something a while back and it wasn't that much.

Until proven otherwise I'm with G.O. Joe.There are many people making BHO/ISO. Now that California's mmj laws state that no solvents be used suddenly everyone has earwax/oil that is lab manufactured with CO2 and high pressure now nitrogen and ultrasound, not a couple of hippies with a case of Ronson.I am pretty sure whats behind the curtain.

How would breaking off frozen trichs turn into an oil?

Liquid nitrogen is about the same price as milk, pretty cheap. And in the states, you dont need a license for it.

Damn that sounds very interesting, id like to see what that stuff looks like. I always am worried about impurites left over in BHO and hardly even smoke it at all anymore, just occasionally with the oil heads. Sounds wave liquid nitrogen tek i would love to read - lol.

I have heard of and tried this sonic extraction. While the numbers ain't that bad,
MY BUBBLE HASH IS ABOUT AS GOOD AND TASTES WAY BETTER.

"blackberry kush flower %15.44 THC %0.23CBD %0.05CBN

blackberry kush full melt%52.64THC %01.27CBD %0.33CBN"

Good use for a low-potency high yielder!:jump:

Just in case anyone with the ability to, is considering attempting something like this, do it in a well ventilated area.

Liquid nitrogen= a lot of gas when it evaps. Nitrogen comprises the majority of our air, therefore we dont have any sensors for too much nitrogen. The nitrogen will displace the oxygen, and all of a sudden, you will feel hey, am I getting enough oxygen? But you'll be breathing normally. So you take a deep breath to replenish oxygen. But it doesn't work. You panic. Your heart rate goes up. Oxygen levels deplete. You maybe get the idea to run for the door. You almost make it but collapse, passing out in a nitrogen rich environment and die of asphyxiation.
I think people have even termed it nitrogen asphyxiation.

Definitely makes sense and is not out of the realm of possibility. Don't know about the nitrogen part, but "cracking" technologies are used to fractionate oils. All major refineries use them, and there is one called "sonocracking", that uses ultrasound. Proven in the lab with small amounts of material, however not practical yet for large runs in a refinery. Google "sonocracking" to learn about it.
I believe this is what they are talking about. Finally may have found a use for this "tech" which has been studied for quite a few years.

maybe ultra sound like they use to break up kidney stones!!!
ive always wonderd if that could work...

thats it .... wheres is my ultrasound toothbrush im freezing me some trim lol

anyone that watches TopChef or any of the cooking shows knows
liquid nitrogen is super available nowadays and relatively easy to
work with, so long as proper precautions are used.

I've seen it turn soft organic material into an almost glass like
substance. So pouring it over your material would almost turn
in into a brittle, frozen glass like consistensy...perfect for knocking
off trichomes...

However, the brittle nature of everything required the gentle, sonic vibration to only cleave the trichomes, perhaps then over screens, who knows. sounds like it could be promising.

That would be called hash, the result would not be an oil.

Those who don't see the problem with this oil should research the solvent abilities of nitrogen.

Personally, I dont think they actually used Liquid Nitrogen as the solvent, they used the liquid nitrogen to make liquid CO2 with high pressure, low temp conditions. Liquid CO2 can be a GREAT solvent.

As I understand the testing....

the percents represent the relative amounts of cannbinoids in the sample.....

so the amount(percent) of thc in oil should be the same as in the original source....

unless there is some way to exclude some of the other cannabinoids.....

The % are per weight I believe, that's why hash is rated higher than flowers, and none of them add up to full 100%

I've tried liquid nitrogen extracted oil and it wasn't too bad, nothing spectacular.

I've noticed with the "high tech" extractions a poor flavor profile when compared to BHO. However the extract may indeed be purer THC
