Sympathise with you on this one UK chem hunters, seems to be a lot harder to obtain appropriate alcohols for extraction over here. The same old anti-terror, war on drugs excuses for stripping them from the shelves.
I have found isopropyl at 'Maplins' of all places. Servisol IPA170, available pressurised in a spray or in a larger 1ltr pourable liquid can.

All possibly international existing shit aside, Ethanol is available as 190 proof ethanol, or distillable from lower concentrations. Check your local liquor, or scientific supply store.
99% ISO here is available as an industrial cleaning solvent, as well as drug suppliers. Check Fryes as well as Safeway and Costco.
Methanol is available as a solvent or as a denaturing agent for ethanol. All forms are good, if used properly!

Just to be clear rubbing alcohol is NOT the same. Rubbing alcohol has an oil called lanolin added so it does not dry your skin out so unless you want to smoke lanolin I would never use rubbing alcohol.
Good point! They sometimes do add other ingredients to 70% rubbing alcohol, so as to not burn or dessicate the skin.
The 30% water is also a big problem, as it extracts all the evil tasting water solubles, that are tough and labor intensive to remove later.
99% ISO would be my choice if 95% Ethanol were not available. They both produce delicious extracts, if you use quick wash techniques.
Butane also produces some tasty extracts, if concentrated alcohol isn't available. I do both, and both have their devoted following.

Iso is 99% pure alcohol and rubbing alcohol is 79% I believe it's either in your pharmacy you can ask or in the electronics store for cleaning electronics.. peace out Headband707

Iso also is used to clean stereo ect you could ask one of those stores or just call your pharacy and ask them where to get 99.9% iso for cleaning stereo or your local hydroponic store should have it..
