Successful Smokers???

HempKat i agree, it all comes down to what you consider successful. Accomplishment of your goals or dreams, and living the life that you love to live is what is going to make you successful and happy. Thats all you can do in life, be successful for yourself, not for others.

I wholeheartedly agree. There was a time in my youth when I was a cook at a restaurant in a resort town. Fortunately the restaurant I was in stayed open year round. Anyway I didn't make great money but it was above minimum wage, I enjoy cooking, I liked the people I worked for and with, I had enough money to pay rent and utilities, buy food and have enough left over to spend some money on whatever to have fun and still have some money to save for things I might need or want. I was basically happy and all my needs were met but the job had no real future. Anyway my family hated the job and talked me out of staying there and to get into computers. They felt I wasn't successful because it wasn't a real "career" in their eyes because it didn't pay enough to own a home or support a family which I didn't have.

I didn't regret changing because while I like cooking I also enjoy computers and working with electronics but I could have easily stayed as a cook at that resort town and been happy with that and had no regrets. As long as I'm doing something I enjoy and my needs are met and what I do doesn't harm others then in my opinion I'm successful at life.

Bill Gates smoked pot and dropped acid in college, and he's pretty successful. Willie Nelson is pretty successful, so is Snoop Dogg. Actually, I imagine more people in the entertainment industry smoke then don't smoke. Your boss is just a brainwashed d-bag.

Theres a circle of associates who are all daily smokers doing pretty big things for being under 25 yrs old. Making more money than most their age, into property and investing in new ventures. At the same time, i know WAY more daily smokers who dont have 1k saved up, and just blow all their money on herb partying and clothes. Its all relative, theres certain people who will not be able to function or be productive while high, while other people need that morning blunt or bong hit before doing their daily business...

please explain to your boss that heavily biased laws have kept most tokers in the closet, a personal use grower can lose his home to property forfeiture laws but a child molester using a computer in his home is NOT privy to the same penalty.

WHY?

one uses his home to grow his own medicine which harms nobody.

the other uses his home to go on computer to lure kids sometimes to their deaths.

WTF?

please explain to your boss that millionaire & billionaire tokers didn't get to where they are by being stupid either, they know to keep their mouths shut.

Yes, SIRHARRYNUGGZ, he is unfortunately brainwashed. amusing part of this is his long time best friend has opened a medical dispensary in colorado. My boss went to meet him prior to starting the business where he was asked to be a investor. I know him too well and called him out saying he was an investor and he got all upset that i said something and he got scared and wouldn't invest because I knew about it. So its OK for his best friend to be a successful smoker and start a legitimate business, but everyone else is a idiot pot smoker in his mind. i don't understand some people sometimes.

Mr. Joe Rogan is the first that pops into my head.

But it just all depends on how you handle marijuana.

In a situation like that its best to nod and agree, then contradict yourself, "oh well, I guess there's bill gates etc, but theyre clearly the exception to the rule, oh yeah and I guess there's all those music business guys, and maybe some of the actors who make big money, but yeah, I agree with you" type of thing. No one wants to get fired for simply pointing out that their boss is talking shit, again. Although I've done it, and it doesn't turn out well. Which is why I would now say the above.

well, my boss is also my brother in law and we always talk shit to each other and are always butting heads. I have worked for him for over 7 years now, and we are now out of work due to economy and he is in the process of laying everyone off for the winter and I'm sure he isn't happy that i told him i got a job working in the MMJ industry and he just might be a bit scared that i won't be returning next spring.

That's like asking how many successful drinkers there are. I'd guess the percentage of smokers who are successful is roughly the same as the percentage of drinkers, or the percentage of people in general. In other words, whether or not someone smokes is really irrelevant to "success." Responsible recreational drug use is not a factor. IMO.

I would however separate responsible users from abusers. Sure, there is a small percentage of users of any drug that overdo it. For the most part, they are probably not "successful."

Personally, pretty much everyone I know smokes at least occasionally, and all are responsible, successful adults.

^ yeah, that

also, i heard the guy who runs men's warehouse is a stoner. heard he also donated $$ to cali's legalization. don't have his name off the top of my head
