What's new

healthy plants but strange twisting and bending in leaves....pics

any ideas? they are perfectly green, 2 weeks into flower and being fed jamaican and peruvian guano, kelp extract and ewc in RO water every feed. soil is peat, humus and perlite with dolomite lime.

zero other issues with these girls, just a funky twist in some of there leaves on 1/3 of the plants. started about a week ago. been the same, maybe a little worse since it started....

the last pic is of leaves about 1/3rd from the top of the plant that are getting necrotic dots on the leaf margin. Potassium right? its only on 1 plant out of like 30 that all look fantastic. and of those maybe 10 or 12 have this leaf curl....

thanks for any ideas.

yea i forget about the infirmary a lot. i just wander over here every once and a while and try to give back. i think your best bet is posting over there or pm'ing people. if the info is directed to them people are very helpful. gives them self satisfaction. whatever is going on with your plants needs a specialist.

did you try flushing with ph'ed water? maybe it is a salt build up causing defic.s and ph problems.

cheers,

The upward curling spines on the leaves could be from over nute, too much water/salt build up, or the humidity is too high.
What is that thing in the back corner?

its an air conditioner. too much water and the fan thing are possibilities. ill mess with the fan and see if anything changes. i think i water to much for sure. no run off or anything but fuckers stay wet for a week to 10 days. 3 gallons of soil.

With that statement, I would have to guess you are watering too much.

I handwatered my plants in 3 gallon container for many many years. About 32 ounces of water and they needed it every 3-4 days.

extreme leave contortions can have several causes but ussually one main factor just like "the claw". I have found when I over fertilize my girls or I have a plant who can't handle almost any fertilizer I will get leaf contortion. However ussually the it is more defined then what you have here.

At 2 weeks into flowering those plants should need to be watered a TON more often then that. You immediate problem might be over watering but you might want to investigate your environmentals if you are not getting enough vigirous growth that requires alot more watering. If I am watering every 5-7 days in veg by the 2nd or 3rd weeks in flowering it was down to every 2nd to 3rd day.

Now if you want to take the quess work out when you move your plants into flowering hook them up to blumats and you will be happy. Right now I am having issues 2 weeks into flowering because my blumats drippers lay right ontop of the soil. The roots are growing into the drippers and blocking them.

do you know what your PH is?
thats something you should know.
the claw can be a symptom of too much nitrogen and it can be strain sensitivity.
I did it with too much blood meal on a blueberry strain.

If you are watering and getting very little runoff, there is a high probability there is salt built up, especially if they are being feed with every watering...which will also lower the hell out of the PH in the medium. best thing to do is to run some RO water thru the pots and test the runoff and see where it sits...that would be a good starting point and give you a good direction to go in...
