What's new

The Cube. A vscrog.

Okay let's start with a tour of the build. What I did was make a PVC frame 4x4x5h, the screen is 3' tall and 2.5gal buckets are ziptied to it. In the first pic only the drain for these buckets are plumbed.

Now let's look at my High Pressure Aero Cloner. Since this pick I've flipped the pump upside-down to resolve a priming issue.

Photo0238.jpg

This is the timer I built to control it, adjustable from 1-60" ON and 30"-30' OFF. I used a spade bit to thin the case where the potentiometers had to go through.

What it looks like closed up.

Photo0280.jpg

Some fine mist from 85PSI.

Photo0252.jpg

Here's the result from 3" ON 3' OFF. Hairy roots were mostly visible in the net pot. I've since removed the netting from the pot. Working on cycle times. Too short and they take forever to root, too long and the roots aren't hairy. I'm just experimenting since my next grow will be HP aero. I'm currently building a full HP garden for use with vegetables in my living room. I want some lettuce, damn it.

Moving on from the cloner, this is my Fan/carbon/ballast box. I used a cut-to-fit filter bad held in place by several screws around the perimeter. Topped with about 1" of carbon. And an air cooled ballast to boot. The ballast did require additional support. I wouldn't recommend reproducing this box.

More too come.

Thanks for the welcome:)

A teaser of the strain flowering in there. This bud was grown under flouros. That's not a netbook. lol

Like I said, more to come....

I dig that bucket setup, man. Very efficient...can't wait to see it in action. Good luck! Peace

looks a very nice set up but are you going to use something stronger than those zip ties to secure the buckets?

lol, your carbon scrubber is ghetto fabulous... I considered doing something similar, but opted for the real deal. Kinda cool to see it built. I'm happy it's working out for you!

Zip ties are actually much stronger than you would think. I also used them to secure the screen to the framework and I can easily hang from it with no worry. I did tighten them since that pic.

Yeah I was trying to build this tent on a strict budget. It's only temporary for the next 6 months and I saw no need to buy a carbon filter I would need to upgrade in that time anyways. I had the carbon laying around from use in my reef aquarium (it's removed before saturation).

Here's the strain mascot. She's a high yielder. Well rounded high but not too potent. Incredible artificial grape smell and flavor. 10/10 for bag appeal.

Im starting a RDWC vertical SCROG so youve got my attention.
A very tidy grow area you have just the way I like it. Keep it up & be sure to post lots of pics.

Here's a little clutter for you guys that enjoy a less-is-more Feng Shui philosophy to grow room design, as do I. I used a 100w T5 fixture and that CFL brooder for a few days while I played with the drip system.

Photo0307.jpg

I figured I should spare you guys a few boring weeks of veg. That's an 8" cooltube with 1kw in there BTW. The Brooder lamp now exists only for photographic purposes. I've ditched the drip emitters, they are a possible failure point and I had only used them to hold the drip lines in place. I'm now using stakes. The system is D2W also. I use GH 3 part (3-2-2), a fulvic acid supplement and a MgSO4 solution.

The tent is all double panda thick, even though it's temporary I don't like light leaks. This made light proofing the door easier and prevents little pinholes. It also makes running wires into the grow area easier by allowing me to stagger holes. Also, if that isn't enough reason, 6mil panda isn't light proof. Oh hey another reason, a white grow tent doesn't make the room look as small as a black grow tent. My GF loves that one.:ying:

In this pic the plants are recovering from underfeeding in there early life.

Well the scrog screen is 2' away (from center) and my goal is a 9" canopy. This is my first run in this setup, or vertical period. But I'm near the end of stretch and I think I did well with the canopy management. To my surprise, I think I undervegged, when at flip I was worried I had overvegged.

Budz! Yield is looking promising but nothing to soil your nickers over.

Awesome grow. How did I miss this one. I really like the screen. Good use of the panda film as your walls. I'll be keeping my eyes on this thread.

Are you still using this room? I like it. One thing that keeps nagging at me is those buckets suspended from the wire. I know its working for you, I see that, but I just keep thinking those buckets are going to be heavy. Does it put a strain on the fence wire you are using? Is that horsewire?
