Nothing is more precious for youth than winning the trust of people!
Let's become trustworthy enough for people to feel good about us
and say: "As long as this person is there we have nothing to worry!"
Let's become people of integrity and action!
Let's shine in the place where we are right now!

"Goethe, who exerted himself tirelessly for the welfare of his community, went by the motto: "What we are searching for is here or nowhere." He regarded wherever he was as the place of his mission, and he strove his hardest to win in everything he did."

"Mount Fuji is a wondrous peak that offers immeasurable silent inspiration. The name of Mount Fuji can also be written with the Chinese characters that mean 'incomparable [literally, 'not two' or 'one and only'] mountain.' A wise man once said that the life of each one of us is incomparable and unique like Mount Fuji and that we must stand up based on the solid inner foundation we have forged.

"We are each entities of the infinitely noble Mystic Law, supreme treasure towers of life. We are each unique and irreplaceable. As such, let us stand tall like Mount Fuji, living out our lives with unshakable conviction. Let us live true to our vow from time without beginning.

"...'Be like Mount Fuji!'--that was one of the guidelines for human revolution that Mr. Toda imparted to me."

No matter how adverse situations might be, as long as a mother is strong, we can surely lead everything in the direction of victory! A mother's smile is like the sun of hope rising in people's hearts!

From Words of Wisdom, by President Ikeda, on "Health and Illness". www.ikedaquotes.org.

Illness is not something to feel ashamed of. It is not a sign of misfortune or defeat. Suffering is the fuel of wisdom, and it opens the way to happiness. Through illness, human beings can gain insight into the meaning of life, understand its value and dignity, and strive to lead more fulfilling lives

the bolded is so poignant cause here at least in america we are sold relief at every corner

buy this relieve that

we need our suffering to learn, its our beings way of expressing that we are not in harmony and without it how can we be driven to find it?

we dont

seems so many people are part of that easy fix cycle whether as a buyer or a seller and it seems like collective bad reciprocal karmic expression of living in the 3 paths that either creates or is created by a evil buddha or demon if we are to define it as collective disharmony by our collective actions. people unknowingly sowing discord and self destruction.

seems so many people are oblivious to it also

my experience is that if you replace fear with faith, suffering will bring you to enlightenment for certain.

well really i dont know what im trying to say, but pain is your friend, learn to listen and understand its source is far better than trying to remove its existence from your mind

perhaps not so much that pain is our friend, but that it is a bright fire which can burn away the dross....to reveal the purity of that which lies within...not to be droll, but as the nike commercial says, pain is just weakness leaving the body...i spend a lot of time cycling, and cycling is all about enduring pain and pressing on,the turning of the pedals and wheels becomes a moving mandala painted in sweat on the road...

"...in his famous writing 'Many in Body, One in Mind,' the Daishonin writes:

"'If the spirit of many in body but one in mind prevails among the people, they will achieve all their goals, whereas if one in body but different in mind, they can achieve nothing remarkable....Although Nichiren and his followers are few, because they are different in body, but united in mind [i.e., many in body, but one in mind], they will definitely accomplish their great mission of widely propagating the Lotus Sutra.' (WND-1, 618)

"The Daishonin states here that we cannot achieve victory if our minds are at cross purposes, no matter how large our group is or how much influence we possess. In contrast, even if our numbers are small, we will be able to accomplish all of our goals if we are united in our shared aspiration to realize kosen-rufu."

i think that we put a premium on enduring pain instead of understanding the mechanism it was designed to be

if you have a pain, its the bodies way of saying something is wrong, if you do not understand the source, hiding from the pain will not reveal it

the source and pain remain thereafter

so this is were i see suffering through pain to see the source as an enlightening suffering

much in the way you say it

this is why i say pain is your friend not your enemy, your enemy does not warn you of impending damage

T, I'll try to be there! Still got class though so maybe I can buy you a flight this way for a few days.... :) Glad to know we've all been chanting for your dad and he is doing so well.

All my best to all my friends on here. Sorry I haven't been able to call anyone, I have house guests for the rest of the week and work plus school has been INSANE! I need some me time and tomorrow I'll enjoy that by raking leaves :)

Much love to all and I'm chanting everyday and more focused on kosen-rufu now than ever before. Another Chanting Grower, Chase, that doesn't post, who got his Gohonzon 3 years ago, just got a regular Gohonzon for the first time and we enshrined the Gohonzon in his home last night! He was having a hard time practicing with the Ommomori and now has both in his Butsudan! Their are about 5 chanting growers in my area and I definitely know Weird is one of them! Can't wait to see you again Weird :)

Be well my friends and to all "Keep living your lives to the fullest, Human Revolution feels sooo good!"
