question about spider mites

So, I got some clones that were infected with the little bastards.

I had about 12 plants in that room....last night I pulled all plants except 2 and threw them away. I kept 2 because they're the only plants left of that strain.

I've never had mites before......my real fear is this. About 30 feet away is my other room which hasn't been infected by them. I have about 30 healthy plants in this room and I can't afford the mites finding them. Is there anything I can do to protect this room?

Is it better to leave a plant or two in the infected room to keep any mites that may have been left behind contained to them?
Will mites seek out my other plants?

Do mites walk long distances?

FYI-in the infected room I sprayed EVERYTHING with 1:1 rubbing alcohol and water.....the 2 plants I kept, all the plants I threw away....
EVERYTHING. Also, does rubbing alcohol kill eggs? Thanks in advance.

wow, man thats a little overkill. but i guess better safe than sorry. it depends where your at. i heard there was a spider mite that was resistant to about everything somewhere but i am not sure if thats true. no pest strips stop my mites cold.

yup, what he said. I just did the Floramite in my room and cant find any more mites. After trying all the cures I would reccomend just goin for the Floramite, but only use it in veg.

not to make your skin crawl or anything, but mites can walk very long distances...provided they're hitchhiking on you.

floramite worked for me, as mentioned above a couple of times - you're still better off if they don't make it to the other room. As is, you are Vector #1 for that happening. until you know they're obliterated in room #1, consider 'quarantine' on anything going in between the rooms, yourself included.

it's a pain in the ass, but if you schedule things to a point where your contact w/ El Roomo del Mas Scabies is the last part of your rotation of things to do, it'll avoid 5 sets of clothes needed per day ;^)
