I just did mine for the first time and I have the 2 tube one and I did 3 bottles total so a bottle and a half on each tube. It came out great.

your second half can run thru half an oz extracts about 2-4% more i would estimate. if its a waste, thats your call.

it does not effect quality, using lots of tane.

i time my extractions such that I take the time for the butane to begin spraying out the filter end, pause momentarily (while keeping the injection side sealed), then follow through with another spray for the same time duration originally to spray out the filter end

my logic is that the first time duration gives you a good estimate of how long it takes to soak the tube, the pause allows for the tube to really freeze up and some dissolving to occur, and the final spray for the original duration of time ensures that a full "flush" has occurred.

thanks dope im going to go with your technique tomorrow once i get my tubes through fedex. i hand gridded into small nugs since i had pretty good solid nugs and place them in the freezer for tomorrow extractions to begin. now i want it to come out budder do i just keep whipping it onto a hot plate for 15min till it gets into a budder look?

yes that is the general process. one thing I think people often forget is to allow for the oil to cool down in between hot plate warmings. imo the waxes need to melt down and reconstitute itself, kind of like how solutions produce purer crystals when left to cool slowly undisturbed... here we want a "messy" crystal so the agitation and rapid changes in temperature should keep the structure of the oil malleable

i would warm on hot plate until malleable, remove from plate and whip until tacky/viscous, then put back on hot plate, n repeat. some oils may not even need a 2nd whipping, and others may never solidify even after multiple times.


on the flipside, when i want "shatter" it's all about low heat long purge with minimal agitation (often times the only agitation is the final scrape from pyrex to dish)

i love mine, had it for 4 yrs (5?) so far!
just hold the top tight when u pack it hard, the pressure can pop the rubber off if its too tight..

grinding produces darker oils... i suggest not grinding...
crushing is okay.
if you have alot of trim your trying to process i run 30seconds on the 'tane and blast through2 tube full with one can...
i was told to run multiple cans @ one tube but yield after the first 5 seconds of oil coming out is minimal.

so i did about 8 runs with about 2 and a half oz of small nugs and 8 cans (vector). it cam out really goldish color so i whipped it for about 45min on a warm top. i left it over night on top of a warm fixture. the next day my wax was completely dry chalk look really crumbly.
HAS ANYONE TRIED PUTTING THEIR EXTRACTIONS IN WARM WATER? AND SPOON COLLECT IT ON TOP OF THE WATER SURFACE?

Love my okief tube, ran many runs through it. Thinking of getting the XL or a 3 tuber.

A quick mod to prevent blowouts:

1- Get another of the screens that they give you, poke a small hole in the center, big enough for the butane tip to fit through.

2- Fill and pack your tube as normal, I use a 1/2" breaker bar (a well packed tube will yield more than a loosely filled one, as the butane will stay in a liquid form in a well packed tube, but turn to gas in a loose one). Don't overstuff too tightly, but definitely no air pockets.

3- Put your rubber stopper in tightly.

4- Now, take the piece of mesh with the hole in the center, another clamp like the bottom has, and set it over the rubber stopper, with the hole in the mesh centered over the hole in the stopper, and tighten the clamp down over the mesh onto the pipe.

This will prevent a blowback from happening, happened to me once, there was oil and trim all over the ceiling! I've heard of people getting the butane/oil in their eyes, and it solidifying in their eyes, taking days and days for the oil to dissipate. I use safety goggles, haha.


Safety goggles and the mesh/clamp safety mod will keep your peepers good and the oil in your dish, not on your ceiling or in your eyes!
