just getting an early start on my out door crop for next year.

i plan to make mothers(which is what im doing right now) so i can make a shit load of clones of different strains.

the idea is to "gamble", play with numbers....i plan to make 500 to 1000 clones in hopes of harvesting 100-200 plants

all plants will be planted in patches of 50-100

i plan to plant in the ground and amend the soil with compost and lime and some promix....

strains that i have started :

6 fem og kush--reserva privada
1 fem sour cream--DNA
5 reg hashberry--mandala
5 reg diesel---from a couple of zips i got a while back

the goal is to get one good mom of each so i can start making clones, i figure to keep the clones from each mom and make moms with them so i have enough moms to make all these clones.

so far i have germed the seeds, and a few sprouted so i planted them, will plant the rest as i go along

one thing to remember...my goal is just that...a goal i set for myself, it doesnt mean ill achieve that much, but i will try and do my best to do so.

wish me luck

im trying to plan for next season too...looking at a 20 acre plot soon. if it falls through its gonna be mostly Sour Bubble and aeros chemxsour...want big yeilders with bag appeal

yeah i plan to take real good care of them, spend some money where it count, in the soil.

the thing is in my area its almost impossible to sell outdoor, even at dirt cheap prices...so i plan to sell it as indoor exotics, if i tell ppl its outdoor they wont want it, but if i show them the same weed and tell them its exotics, they will pick it up at norm prices.....funny how ppl are...

anyways its a numbers game, i think ill get to harvest 10% of my crop, but if i get more ill be happy

^hah word....i dont know any special techniques that make outdoor look like indoors, but some people can pull it off. certain strains tend to look really "outdoorsy" when done outdoors...like alot of Sour Diesel comes out looking like schwag even though it smells great.

some strains that my friends ran that came out looking like indoor were LA confidential and various OG kushes, but hands down the best was GDP and other purple strains, they came out really dense and lookin alot like some indoor, and the purple tint helped raise the price.

I don't know how I feel about contributing to people getting cheated, but I would lean away from any Sativa lenient strains if I was worried about bag appeal.

I do not understand what all the hype about indoor weed is about. Some of the best tasting and potent weed I have smoked was grown outside but i guess some things I will just never understand...I too have started preparing for next years outdoor. I have started digging all of my holes and filling them in. I decided to do it now as the grow season is over in my area and all the rippers and cops are enjoying the cold days inside. I feel no paranoia setting the plots up and next year I simply have to sneak the plants in to plant them. This coming year I am focusing on small plots in terms of plant numbers but I will grow some monster sized girls. I plan to have 5 plots with 10 very large plants each. I am going to be veggin the plants inside for a couple months before they go out. The holes that I am digging are massive, i do not know the exact number of gallons or litres of promix that I am dumping into them but they are BIG. I am confident that I will harvest most of my plants. I have lived in the area my whole life and know the land very well. I also plan to put out a few "mini's" later in the season but I am not focusing on that right now

yeah idk if mine will be massive, but i figure ill make up for that in numbers.

the trick to getting outdoor to look like indoor, is to get a strain with a high calyx to leaf ratio, 8 hrs of direct sunlight min, and some good compost/reg feeding, compost is just easier as i wont be out there every week....

ill be doing my digging and planting from march-may, but your on nthe right track PR, by doing it this year your dirt you fill in the holes will have time to get "warm" with nutes, it sould be nice and active by next year.....but imo while you fill em in this year you should water the dirt with EWC tea, or some sort of other benefical tea that will promote microbal activity, as the ground unfreezes microbal action will start and you dont have to do a damn thing....

Yea the EWC is a great idea, I have been thinking of adding some different organics to my pro mix such as guano or worm castings but I want to keep things simple and as cheap as possible. My plan is to use organic time release ferts as I will hardly ever be visiting and I had some mixed results with AN's heavy harvest chemical time release...many skilled people have suggested different organics so I will be doing some experimenting. I will also be making cages and invisible fences using very thick fishing line. I am confident I will not lose ANY plants to animals this coming year. There is so much other vegetation around that the deer never bother the plants unless they are seedlings so I am confident that with my large plants started indoor and my cages they won't be any where near them. Are you going to be doing anything to prevent against animal and pest attacks?

Nice sounds like a good plan...if you plant 500-1000 clones you're guaranteed to end up with a decent amount of bud even if you only harvest 100 of them.
I'm planning on amending my outdoor spots with chicken manure, steamed bonemeal, gypsum and some perlite late april-early may and letting it cook for 4-5 weeks before I transplant on June 1st. I will also be top dressing with EWC throughout the season. I'm hoping this will be enough food to get them through the season with just water. I'll be using clones of dutchgrown's oger99 once I find good moms.

Light dep will make outdoors look just like indoors and fetch nearly the same price...

Also meant to ask you joe, why do you believe you will harvest just 10% of your crop? It is good to have low expectations because if you get anything more than that it feels very rewarding but are the rippers and cops bad in your area? 10% of 1000 is still 100 plants so I think your guaranteed a nice harvest.

well i figure 10% because....i plan to plant in patches of 50-100

i figure ill loose some to rippers/youths in the woods, some to cops, some to wild life, some to mold and budrot....ect the list goes on....also planting diff strains and they might not all do well im my climate, some might do better and others might not....which is the reason im planting a variety, so i can be sure atleast one strain will do good

thats why my goal is to harvest 100 plants, and if i get more all the better......

kinda "indoorsy"

kinda "indoorsy"

joefresh what about your m39 ?? is she super dense rock hard nuggies ?? here is m12, extreme density with thick greasy resin to seal out the mold/rot ...

nice, yeah its got rock hard nugs, a little less leaf towards the tops of the nugs, and loads of resin, but when we get rainy cold nights they do get mold, hell i even get mold indoors with them if the RH is too high...

well heres a few pics of what i got started for next seasons out door.

clones in square pots are Super Lemon Haze

big plants from left to right are-SLH#1, SLH#2, power kush(fruity pebbles pheno)-i reveged the power kush from 2 runs ago, she was great and i had to keep her.

clones in the 8" pots are the 4 labeled deep purple clones from the mamas, and under the fluoro's i got the seeds that i started a few days ago(og kush, hashberry, sour cream, diesel)

as you might notice(if you have been following my grows) is that i moved my mini veg chamber/mom room to my electricl room, i wasnt liking the other room, had too many problem, like poor ventilation and cramped room....i like this one much better
