Correct parallel wiring?

This is how I am guessing these would be wired parallel series. Am I right? The wire coming off the top left lamp base would go to a surge bar sitting outside the box.

There is 1 silver and 1 gold plate & screw each lamp base, I have silver leading to silver and gold to gold.

If your interested check out the thread I made which will follow the creation of my 35 gallon sterilite grow tubs.

lol well its not parallel series but thats a technicality ;) what you have there is the correct way to wire those lamp bases and they are wired in parallel.

Thanks. Now I am having trouble wiring a dc adapter to a pc fan. Is building a grow box just one big pain in the ass after another?

The adapter has 2 wires, one black & one black with white stripe. The pc fan has 3 wires. Yellow, Black, & Red.

I took the black/white adapter wire to the red & yellow fan wire. And black adapter wire to the black fan wire. Nothing. Tried without the yellow involved, nothing.

I don't get it. Perhaps my adapter is no good.

most of those fan need to be wired to the right polarity. Pos to Pos, Neg to Neg. Don't use the yellow wire, if its the same as my pc fans then you wont need it. Try red to black and wht/blk to black. If that don't work, switch it around.

If you have a $10 digital multimeter you can test the adapter for proper polarity. If it reads 12v then you got the polarity right, if it reads -12v then its crossed.

Hope this helps.

Some PC fans have a speed monitor. I think the black (-) and red (+) are what you want for power. The yellow is a RPM monitor line.

Hey what do ya know... red to black and black to black/white worked. The guide I was reading said to keep red away from black so that's why I never tried that connection. Thank you. The fan is very quiet, airflow is said to be rated at 53 cfm. I have 2 others to try which are rated faster if temps are too high.
