If you clean your bags immediately after using them in ice water this should never be a problem.... they last years.

Also you could try some Isopropyl alcohol just an inch or so in a 5 gallon bucket and let bags soak for a few seconds.

Bubbleman says only clean the screen part of the bags with ISO because it can damage the other materials or something...........I usually stretch my bags out on a bucket and just clean the screen with an old toothbrush that I dip in ISO, then immediately rinse them over and over with cold water to make sure all the ISOs gone

thanks Chronic Don, looking forward to hearing about it.

@ kony... even when they were BRAND SPANKING NEW they drained like mollasses so i doubt that theory but still mightgive it a shot

You can drain 90% of the water out of the 25 micron bag by using a short upward jerking motion while holding it slightly inside the bucket above the water. Takes about 20 seconds. Then hang the bag for remaining 10% to drain out. It takes forever to drain otherwise.

So instead of fighting to get the last bit of water drained thru or use "jerking" motions or shake or drip dry can I use a battery powered vibrating egg? let it hang over the side of the bag to the bottom and turn it on? it should keep the bag from clogging if jerking or such works.

Anyone use or ever try this?

You could always get cheap bags... they work. Then again, I enjoy paying more for a product that's not only superior, but also have access to the owner of the site for support/questions.

my bubblebags got a hole from the stiching stretching within 8 runs. thats owning them less than a year. theres got to be better quality than that.

I found a better way to recover my hash.... instead of squeezing out the water, I let the 220/160/90 strained watered sit and settle an hr then I pour off the top 3/4+ water and put the remaining into the 25micron bag stretched over a 5 gal pail. I let the water settle in the stretched bag an hr and then dip out the "fresh" water. when I get close to the product, I simply scoop it out letting it final drain in a paper coffee filter sitting on top of a bunch of paper or cloth towels. then I scrape the product from the coffee filter and spread it out on a mirror to dry.
no anger issues with slow filtering water anymore. and full recovery nothing "lost" throu stretched holes

The all mesh bags work awesomely. the higher numbers drain surpremely well in comparison. The 25 micron drains well too, but as with the regular bags after a few loads it gets clogged. I have yet to get brave enough to try to clean them with anything. I heard alcohol works. anyone can tell me best way to clean the crap off the 25 so it drains well again?

Alcohol and a toothbrush :)
I would think the yield wouldn't be as high with the all mesh bags.........not correct?

Thanks I figured alcohol but the toothbrush part I hadn't, it makes sense.

I only last yr used my first filterbag, a bubblebags set with only the mesh bottom, and it was wet froze shake, and this year I bought my own bags the all mesh ones. I can't really make a good comparison but I think from the way they work there isnt much different in returns.
I mix in a bin then pour it threw the 220/160/90 and then pull the bags. I then let it settle an hr or so while I ready another mix. after the hr I pour off the top 3/4 + water into the mash thats put back into the bin. I then pour the last bit of water and "sludge" into the 25 bag which I stretch over a bucket. I let that settle a bit and dip of the "clear" water and scoop out the sludge and put it into a paper coffee filter to get the last water out. after it becomes almost dry I scrape it onto a mirror to dry. I figure this works well, but will work even better once I scrub the bags and make the next round of bubble

we make 2-3 runs each time, and then clean em promptly...don't see any buildup /clogging yet... used the sprung bags 10odd times, and the bubble bags 15/20times...

maybe cleaning em up quickly is the key???

chronic don, which ones did you buy? and it sounds like they still back up with water just not as quick im sure

I bought a set of all mesh bags from a place called wacky willys. I find after I scrubbed them with alcohol they worked better but after 2 runs they needed cleaning. I wonder if by squeezing the bags I opened up the holes and shit got stuck in them? as mentioned to clean every 2-3 runs would be real bummer. I get maybe a 1/4oz each run if lucky and to need to continully clean... I am thinking I need to make a sluice box with 25 micron material and instead of bagging it let it flow over the screen maybe add a vibration to keep it moving. any thoughts anyone?

what/how do you clean yours?
I thought about just dipping in alcohol
or scrubbing with alcohol
or throw them in a washing machine with a good grease cutter or soap?

all we ever do is spray em with the hose... water... nothing else... and so far no clogs... we spray em, then turn em inside out and spray again...

I tried just turning inside out and swishing it in water, and did the first time, to find it only seemed to clog again after 1 run. so I got some 99% alcohol and now turn it inside out over a pail and pour in a cup of alcohol and scrub it with a toothbrush. (wife:" what are you doing with my new haven't even used it toothbrush? myself:" it was in a pack in the cupboard I needed one so I took it, I'll buy you a new one" ducking quickly as I talk)
then I pour the alcohol, both that dripped thru and what didn't, into a jar to save to evaporate later or use for a qwiso run. the saved alcohol is a nice lit shade of green.

koodos to bubbleman for the reassurance of their warrantee. good to see a company stand up and offer to give it.
