Electroculture: Using Electric Current On Your Plants To Increase Yield

That's probably what many of you are thinking.
I know, tgtbt right?

While doing some general reading about other stuff (the effect of music/sounds on plants) I came across this, and it's pretty interesting... in fact I'm sure it's been covered in one form or another before but when I googled "electroculture" w/in ICmag nothing turned up so thought I'd share it for anyone interested.

Some folks who've used this technique on a variety of plants have claimed results ranging from the significant to the downright, well, bullshit. There's a variety of specific methodologies - not just running electrodes into your medium, but antenna arrays for your plants, the whole 9...

Anyway, enough blabbing. Here's what I'm talking about:

Which is a chapter in this very helpful book on hemp, "Hemp Husbandry" by Robert A. Nelson

Surprisingly, there's very little out there on Google for "electroculture cannabis..."

 or :jawdrop: ?

Dr. Wilhelm Reich (of Orgone fame) also found that plants could be grown without light if they were grown with magnetite that had been exposed to sunlight. The magnetite absorbs and reradiates solar energies that are utilized by plants.

Quoted from the article in your link. I guess I'll start growing my plants in an orgasmatron.

ooooo this looks fun.

I've thought about this in the past and already have a few ideas on it....I've never seen any research on it though, but I didn't really look. Thanks for the links.

StealthDragon - be sure to share results with us if you do decide to experiment. The antenna approach is probably the easiest and least intrusive...

oh I'll document some stuff eventually..just need to make some room. I'll probably go with low voltage DC probes...with proper control groups and all that too ;)

I just need the room in the cloner to do a nice batch of clones so I have some good control..might be a week or 2 but this is defiantly next on my list.

I read about this on the GC forums. Some guys even setup solar panels todo it (the light from their HPS would power the electrical shocks). Interesting for sure.
