Neighbor's on probation - need advice

My neighbor and I live on the same property, his is the house mine is the 'mother in law suite'. Legally we have different utilities, different rent, different insurance liability, etc - but I don't know if the property was ever legally subdivided into two properties.

Here's the deal, I have some things in my house which a drug dog would most likely hit on. He stated as part of his probation, the police will bring drug dogs to his house to perform routine searches. What should I do???

Possible ideas:
1) stash everything in my truck and park it down the street
2) stash everything at a friends house (closest one is 10 miles away)
3) keep things the way they are and tell the police to fuck off cause it's a different residence... probly end up in court methinks

any other ideas or suggestions?

my top 10 varied suggestions

10. Tie your stash up in a tree
9. burry it in the back yard with a head stone that says "RIP Spott"
8. throw it all away.
7. find a new place to live.
6. tie it to a few balloons and wave goodbye.
5. 3 bag vacuum seal it.
4. Mail it to the Mayor of Washington D.C., Marion Barry
3. Hide it in the Halloween candy and pass it out to the neighborhood trick or treaters.
2. invite some native american shamans over to have a spirit guide discovery ... tell the cops you will be busy with your new friends for a few days.

and the number one suggestionon what you should do with your probation neighbor and the police dogs:
1. smoke them dogs up too.

i heard in americacops love any chance to nab somebody and a serious hit from a dog at your door will make them wanna look further into it.. i dunno it might even give them probable cause in some places. (being so close to a con aswell) im not trying to panic you but tis definately a good idea to do something about it... like moving everything to whatever part of the inside of your property is furthest away from the door the dog would be going by.. then putting some oxy gel pots or whatever the smell killing stuff is just inside said door... also keep your door locked when their around and dont answer the door.. speak through the window if they knock and politly tell them to get fucked. tell them to write to you at your said seperate adress.. im sure them sending you a leter could be called accepting the fact that your residence is seperate in court. oh and dont smoke before they turn up... and buy a cat :p

oh and think about it.. what are they gonna take you to court for for tellin them to piss off. ' your honour this man didnt let me in his house to rifle through his shit when i asked him too' not gonna stand up.. if they tell you their coming back clear your shit out till they do. let em kick your door off then sue them for damages

I've heard that drug dogs can be easily distracted by another dog or cat smell. So I think if you have another animal in the house, their scent being everywhere, the drug dog will be less of a drug finding dog.

I personally wouldn't rely on that alone.

Fuck the piggies stand up for your rights, man! You're not on probation, so why should your shit get searched when ever the SS show up with their mutt. Your rights can't get trampled cuz he fucked up, went to court and signed his rights away to be on probation. Stand up for your rights, because if you don't who will?

Besides probation papers contain a lot of bullshit in them that can happen, not that it will happen. Oh yeah and police dogs are better trained than to be distracted by the presence of another animal.

Get below their radar. Go ninja. Do not attract the attention unless you have the resources and the will to fight. Once you are in the system thats it. Every traffic stop turns into a search because you came up on the computer. It doesn't end there either. Read Arrest Proof Yourself by Dale C Carson it will save your freedom.

From what I gather of you in your post your best bet would be to put your shit in your car and park it else where. If you think that standing up to the cops will land you in court than you probably lack the stones to stand up to their pressure. I'm not putting you down or trying to insult you, if you are not the confrontational type, then just don't put yourself in that position.

Personally, I agree with darby crash, and think that you should stand up for yourself, but with your shit down the street. Might lend you more confidence knowing that you have nothing in your home.

You have the "secondary suite" which can be a separate address if rented out.In your case it is.Don't let him store anything in your unit.My question is are they really bringing drug dogs (plural or singular) to his residence as a probation condition? If that answer is yes why would you consider living there. They can't legally search, but what is your buddy on probation for, theft or drugs and they figure your the one that got away.

^^^^ This Mother Fucker speaks of Truth! Let it set you free my man..BE FUCKING FREE!

....and tell your neighbor not to be such a prick, and stay out of trouble....

100th Post....LETS PARTY!

'stand up for your rights!!!' - yes in an ideal world, that is what I would do. Considering I don't have time or money at the moment to spare, I can't live ideally. I'm very confrontational, but I'm not going to make a martyr of myself when I don't even have the funds to get a reputable lawyer.

Viking - my neighbor is a better person than you can ever hope to be.

Rick shaw - he got nabbed at a DUI roadblock for possession of two felony substances (I was there). The worst part is, they never charged him with a DUI. It should have gotten thrown out but his lawyer fucked him bad.

Wasn'tMe - thank you, I am taking your suggestions to heart.

As for the other questions-
yes I have a seperate entrance to my home. It is literally a separate building with a separate mailing address and separate utilities.

As for now, my stuff is hidden outside of the home. I figure if they ever do knock, I can tell them to get fuct. If they force a search and it comes up clean, I can sue their asses off. This is all assuming they are going to show up in the first place.

thanks for the beneficial advice

Get rid of your stash... and any illegal contraband. Keep it at your friend's house (10 miles away) if you have to.

Ask for a formal lease/rental agreement. If you have one (and it's legit) the police will need a search warrant to search your place of residence unless they have probable cause. If you don't have one technically the M-I-L suite is just another part of your "neighbor's" house.

couple of questions:

1. would the amount fit in a milk crate or more?
2. will you have a reliable notice before a search?
3. do you do any outdoor veggie gardening?
4. do you have a cat or rabbit?
5. do you own a vacuum freezer bag system?

Someone on probation has drug dogs brought to their residence via probation officer/police and routinely searched.. Really??

I have never heard of a single case of this. This doesn't really sound legal, conducting full on searches of someones house with a k9 unit whenever they want? Because he's on probation?

Huh??

^^^ that sounds more like the situation, never of k9 coming by with probation officer
though the probation officer may drop by, i think the more usual practice is to just have urine tests, may depend on the particulars of what he was charged with
if you get your smells down, your risk should be manageable, but jurisdiction is big here, places like Florida are worse than others

I'd say since you have a different address it should be all good. I'm sure the court papers only has his address and not yours... Just don't be obvious and keep things kool.

Depending on his area, the local judge and the nature of his conviction then K9 sweeps could be a condition of his probation, much like how some have to take on-demand random piss tests for their probation officer. The conditions are usually set by the judge.
