How will legalization affect price?

the way I see it is that no one should be put in jail or have their life ruined because of a plant. And I do think their would be a big corporate control of it, some people would rather buy than grow. Hell They sell Tomatoes in every grocery store even beside the road in many places, why not a fresh bud also. I think you should be allowed to grow your own.
It's Free if you grow your own.

^no one shold go to jail for smoking a plant..but you forget that in order to smoke that plant someones gotta grow it..someones gotta broker it..and someones gotta smuggle that shit down the freeway to your local dispensary

thats the problem with the legal bill...it makes smoking and growing small amounts legal...but those who do things a little bigger are still illegal

you think no one should go to jail for smoking, but do you think people who run 10ks should go to jail because they are the ones supplying everyon?

do you think someone should go to jail because they choose NOT to pay taxes to the government on their plants?

richard lee can do it big because he pays 400k a year to the city of oakland and hes in a wheelchair..but clubs that dont pay up get shut down left and right..

Richard Lee is backing the legalization bill, because his dispensaries will be able to sell pot to EVERYONE< not just med patients. And he knows it.

I'm all for legalization but i dont understand why your allowed to grow in 25 sq. ft space but only allowed to possess 1 ounce of bud. is this what the new law will be?. doesnt make sense to me.you can easily get a pound from that space.why would you only be allowed 1 zip?

And it's only 25 square feet per plot or parcel, so no community grows or "collectives" like us med patients get. They are trying to keep everyone from turning their entire yard into a grow, as Richard Lee would profit less if everyone grew a ton.

Well, pretty much anybody can be a "med" patient in california, so if you need more space, pay your $ and get a rec... I don't really like this prop, but I don't think it will be terrible either. It is not really legalization, more like further decrim... The good thing is is further reduces / eliminates penalties, but the price for good weed is not likely to go down, because those selling it won't want their cheap weed exported to other states and sold for crazy profits...

Prices will drop they have to otherwise the blackmarket guys will undercut everyone. Lets face facts cannabis is not worth remotely what is being charged its only the black market that creates that price same with every other illegal drug. So I think it will drop, probably enough to shock most people.

costs involved in only the most highend mj grows are prohibbitive atleast....costs on plantfood and hormones are alot..

3 part/lucas grown weed isnt the same, and will be cheaper.

tequila is legal and they still sell $300+ bottles.

Supply and demand will never fail in a Capitalistic society.

What is proposed in the bill is a fee.

Legaliztion is going to cost you, same was true of Alcohol. There are people making big bucks that are not going to give it up without some consideration. Think the 'Kennedys'.

But, statewide initiative seems to be the best route for Cali, IMHO. We are still trying to keep it real in Colorado with the 'Free Market'. But everyday you see someone come out of the woodwork to stake their claim, establish their territory.

Taxes will take their toll, but if reasonable...we'll see. But the Micro-Brewery/Brewpub movement worked! So there is hope.

That is correct. it will be just like wine with prices all over the board.

Everyone is thinking about the elephant in the room. Will prices hit $1600 or lower.I think that there is to much fear based speculation. To many chicken littles. Here is what I see, major dispensary owners Lee,DeAngelo and others Have defended their ridiculous rates $10-20 @ gram by saying they are keeping it off the black market. When California legalizes will people from Oregon come in for lower prices. They will keep their price high with the same argument, they are not idiots DeAngelo paid taxes on 21 million last year.Lets look to where it has been legal for a while Amsterdam, there is a thread here called "Uttery Wank Coffee Shop" on it poor quality, overpriced. The other worry all those 5x5's ,oh my.How many people with 215 paperwork grow 10-15% max. There still is fear/ignorance among many/Smell,I need pumps, equipment, warehouse, they can tell by looking at your meter. Then there is the fact that it takes time. When you tell someone that it takes three weeks to clone ,two-five to veg.,eight to twelve weeks to flower, a week to dry and cure their eyes glaze over they think bubble hash is to much trouble If you are on this site you are a 10%,assuming you are not a troll.
