With rdwc is it possible to grow more then one strain in the same set up? I thinking not but going to ask first.

I have, it works ok, but not reccomended. The plants diet and stature is most important.

The stretch in rdwc is insane, and if one does more then the other your canopy is screwed.

I do it all the time in DWC ,but like pure said it can screw up your canopy,When I do diffrent strains I try to keep Strains that are similiar in height and flower time, and a whole lot of training.

You can always crunch the stems over to make an even canopy or tie things down. I wouldnt recommend mixing plants up unless they eat identical in RDWC, jmo
So you dont get confused brain is refering to super cropping and lst

Yes, it works fine, just takes a bit of skill and planning, and crimping is very helpful. I shape my canopy by my plant placement.

Mono crop for best results, but this is a weed it should not die; the weaker ones will just get dominated by the stronger genetics but all plants should live.

it sucks don't do it you'll have way better results if you can run one cut through the system. if not u end up under feeding the more dominate strain

Growing one strain would be so fucking boring, that would require no skill. If you grow multiples, then that is what you will learn to do well.

I have to disagree with a little research on the strains your interested in they can be matched up fairly well ,Rite now I have 4 strains in 1 18 gallon tote scrogged 12th day of flower all doing well .Its not my first time. But i would not recomend putting a sativa dominent with an indica.
Use the search link and consider it research on what you want to do.
Man,I love this puple crack thats going around:smoke out:

Depends on a large number of variables, do you have a light mover, are you using the 2 gallon or 5 gallon setup, what reflector do you have, vertical, sog or scrog, we would need alot more information in order to answer the question of how many plants can you fit. But 1000 watts will only go so far, I currently have a 1000 watter in a 4x4 with 6 girls creating a 16 square foot canopy, but they are about to be moved to my new setup and join many sisters in my new home, and I could have done that same 16 square foot canopy with 4 girls or even 1 depending on veg etc

I get away growing 8+ strains because I use organic soil. Several of these are so similar I think I could grow PK, BBK, BB CK all in the same system and they would all thrive. The canopy would look like shit. I would have to make up for it by putting the BBK on some blocks lol

But if I added my G13 haze or shishkaberry to that, they would die, sooon ;) So with some selection yes.

But Hydrosun is right

Mono cropping < all

1000w in 8x12 is looow wattage. I do 1k per 4x4 and now doin 4 in 7 gal per 1K. No A/c

Very efficient pulling 2lb+ in 32 sq.ft. with 2K. When I expand my room to your size 8x12 it'll be 4k +

You can grow multiple strains in RWDC, you can even grow different strains on the same NFT table, I have done both sucessfully and got a reasonable yield.

It's not something that anyone who uses lots of Advanced potions, additives and snake oil could easily do, but for anyone like me who just uses vegging and flowering nutrients it's not an issue.

However, for maximum yield, it's probably not the best way to grow simply because of the problems in keeping the canopy even.

Excellant point I use micro and bloom ,kool bloom after week3 flower

The biggest problem with running multi strains in RDWC is different finishing times. If the strains your growing are all finishing about the same time it works fine as you can flush them all and be done. The problem (at least for me) is when you have 8 weekers and 10 weekers in the system. Flushing the 8 weekers either doesn't happen, or you flush them and starve the 10 weekers while they are just packing on weight.

If you want to run multi strains, and you don't like soil, do a top feed coco grow. You can water automatically a couple times a day with a timer, or just hand water. That way you can still grow each plant to full potential but also have the bennefits of hydro (big growth)..while being able to flush and finish each plant properly.

Personally though....just find a bomb ass keeper mom or five, and alternate them through your RDWC system doind mono-crops...Much better harvests that way
