I always like technical writer. They will ask what it is then you can tell them that you write the pamphlets for everything they buy... you know the ones they never read.... lolz.

Just say you like the peace and quiet. Choose something you can do from home which doesn't require materials which he could look for or might interest him personally in hiring you. Plop down 6 months rent and he shouldn't have any problems.

DO you work in biofuels/alternative energy? because if you dont know shit about that kinda work, as soon as he asks about you doing solar for discount on rent, you're screwed. Gotta know all kinds of shit so it at least sounds like you're tellin the truth.

I like the inheritance idea because you're young in a shitty economy yet still flush, plus if they start getting nosey about specifics, you can tell em that you sure as fuck aint telling them what you're worth nor the specifics about where its kept....

pay a couple months ahead of time and they'll stfu.

good luck...i was in same position at one point. most landlords are very very aware of the influx of indoor growers...my advice would be to look as nerdy and square as possible. get your steve urkel on...ramble on about alternative energy or some shit.

dont walk in there with your bob marley shirt on talking about "yeah im self employed in the medical industry" lol....

my friends just rented a spot and the landlord pretty much knows whats up...young dudes, no proof of income...yeah they are growing...

I just tell them I moved into the area and am looking for work but I can pay 6 months or a year of rent up front in a cashiers check if they want. They ALWAYS grab the money and that's that.

not currently renting, but am looking to move out of my owned home and rent something with more space in the country. I tell them I am in agricultural production. The last farmer I spoke with about renting his farm house said-

"you know the last fellar who told me he was in agricultural production, you know what he grew?"

I said whats that

he says " WACKY TOBACKY!" with a really funny laugh

The phone stayed silent and I said, well thats what I produce as well. Much more was siad, but in the end, he was like come on out I got all kinds of space and barns! I go and the barns are melting into the ground, place was a mess! Still was funny to hear the old farmer have a good laugh.

Set up an LLC in agricultural production if you are legally providing medicine for medical patients, then you are self employed with proof and income on the books.

Okay guys I think it worked! I found a place with everything I need :) thanks I'll post some grows asap all legal

The worst is when you have to try and get into one of those rental units managed by some big company. They don't usually bite when it comes to bullshit excuses.

It sucks because where I am, 85%+ of the decent rental properties are managed by one company. I lot of the ones that are for rent by owner are either shitty or are a duplex where the owner lives there or something in the other apartment.

Some good excuse have been mentioned. I have successfully used the "I'm a student and mommy and daddy pay my living expenses" before. But I really was a student, just wasn't my parents paying my school, it was pot heads.

But we all know everyone has there price. Say the right things, pay the right price and any place can be yours.
