Hey guys.
I need some help please.

These pests are all over my tray. I do not know what they are. They dont look like spider mites from my google searches.
They are NOT on the plants. Just over the tray and the mediums. Iam using ROCKWELL as my mediums.

I used Peretium TR, most died but there are still a lot of live ones.

Any ideas? Are they harmful to the plants?

Thanks in advance.

i had those in my room this run and it was horrible if you are badly infested just toss ur room away and start over, i wasted my time treating it with merit 75 (imid product) which wiped them out completely but left my ladies stunned and basically i'm just finishing them up and wish i would've just tossed them. if you really want to keep them tho merit 75 works, i'm sure bayer from home depot will work just need a stronger doseage maybe

I don't think they're aphids, they appear to have eight legs, making them some kind of spider. (unless the "legs" at the front are actually antennas)

APHIDSsssssss. AZATROL fucking anihilates them! root aphids stay down below, the more common aphid grows wings and flies around, those basterds will savage your root zone and they multiply fast...azatrol fucks up they're ability to feed and to make eggs.
just do yourself a favor since these pricks eat your roots, i know its expensive but pick up something that will help your roots grow back. a person like me always has hygrozyme in stock for any dead root matter and perhaps a touch of root66 from BC nutes. i'm sure h&g roots excelurator works fine too but they are all pricey. the use of these products will miniize the stunting in growth and have a set of roots up and running in a week, like you never had a problem. also on azatrol they arent specific on dosage, it goes for hydro in a res, use 3ml/gal, its much higher for drench applications as it is a drain to waste, in a recirculating system its 3ml. should be similar for azamax if thats what you use, dont quote me though, also the stuff makes your plant poisonous for all other pests and its not harful on your plants or you, stop use 2 weeks before harvest, it takes about 7-10 days for the plant to suck up the resivoir filled of azatral/max so think you have around 2-3 weeks of protection from there on out. kills those aphids on contact

yes, root aphids. i am quoting myself from a recent post:

the root aphid wiped out most of france's grape (and therefore wine) production in the late 1800s. in 20 years, european winemakers saw their production drop by 66%. it's hard to imagine the economic devastation. or maybe not.

eventually, after many tries, a cure was found: grafting the softer-rooted european grapes onto the harder rootstock of american grapes. this is still the only cure, save some pretty nasty chemicals you can read about on these boards, and is still why almost all wine grapevines are grafted. grape phylloxera is still rampant worldwide. the only places spared are island countries like cyprus and australia, and even they now have cases.

now comes a new beast, the cannabis root aphid. likely it jumped from another commercial crop, or the wild, or both, because i am sure there is more than one species that attacks cannabis. and you will learn, even one species can have around 16 or 18 different phenotypes. whatever the root aphid species (or name) they all share a common biology and life-traits, and are truly one of the most devilish and destructive pests ever. they can be eradicated, one needs only determination, and a cold heart: i recommend sacrificing all plants.

live from california, how to cure root aphids:
1. cut and dispose of all plants.
2. bomb rooms with fogger.
3. bleach floors.
4. repeat #2 and #3 3x over 2 weeks.
5. in the meantime clean all equipment.
6. hang and place yellow stick cards everywhere. monitor constantly.
7. discover aphids you missed.
8. ditto #7.
9. ditto #8.
10. rebuild room from scratch. put in biosecurity measures: all incoming air first screened, then HEPA filtered. all cracks and holes caulked. chemical and physical barriers at all possible entry points, starting with doors, ending with plants.
11. introduce clean new plants from seed or clones from TRUSTED source.

jus' sayin'

now some other jack is gonna come and say bayer or merit. really? you gonna put that on a 60 day crop? for real? good growers don't need it. neither do your good customers. and i'll stand by that.

those are 6 legs; the front "legs" are the feelers/antennas, which are more pronounced in the larger ones. they also have the classic "dual tailpipes" of the aphid family. they will develop fliers when the population is booming. the fliers hop around laying eggs everywhere.

these are RAMPANT in california. i advocate slashing and burning of all plants, and a rebuilding of your grow.

im telling you guys, with azatrol you dont need to slash n burn, i had them they were buried inside rockwool from cuts i got, elite gens too so i need to same them. how i found them was i noticed my plants getting several defiiciencies at once, at this point my plants were in 2gal Ebb and Grow systems, roots should have been at the bottom, i wind up yanking a plant out of the clay and bam! a ball of those exact bugs living on a rootball that should have been 10 times the size, once i ran the azatrol and some hygrozyme, roots rocovered and everything was great...im telling you its the pesticides that work against the bugs ability to reproduce that are the best products to use. i use floramite spray along with azatrol in the res water to combat spider mites and i got ride of those too. so far i got rid of aphids, thrips gnats and mites in my career and azatrol is the only thing that worked

Update:
I have used Azatrol along with Gonats, and so far so good. A few people told me to chuck away the plants and start over, but seems like Azatrol is doing its thing.

even more effective as a "systemic" it literally makes the plant poisonous for every insect. to keep things on the up and up use it once a month up until 2 -3 weeks before harvest

bayer advanced killed my root aphids and all my friends, use it a couple times before flower, maintain cleanliness, and all should be well. Don't chuck them

you guys out in cali? i hear these days its a terrible plague, the whole state infested...im tellin ya the worst bugs are the ones you cant see, i felt better about having spider mites, atleast you can see damage right away
